[FT] Ortillery

An ortillery ship would probably be an old DD refited with big-bore mass
drivers or the like. Acceleration would not be as critical as in her old
role as she would usually travel with slower transports - she would
probably carry a secondary armamnet to allow her to be used as an escort for
the transports, and to swat fighters that attack her once in orbit.
A purpose built hull would have about thrust-2, armour, lots of PD and
ADFC and the mass drivers. A bigger ship might add some fighters, but several
smaller bombardment ships (monitors?) and a jeep carrier loaded with interface
capable fighters would probably be cheaper and more flexible.
