I've been in a sort of peremant lurk for the past several months, but thought
it was time I posted something.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has seen the Nobel Armarda ships in person.
Either some you have or some you've just seen. I'm just looking for opinions
on them at the moment, I think they look alright from the few pics up on the
holistic site.

Here's a link for those of you who have no idea what I'm on about.

I have a few, both the plastic and metal. The Dreadnoughts are particularly
nice and spot on for a large Battledreadnought classed vessel. The Heavy
Cruisers are about the right size for Battlecruisers. The others I ignore the
stated class and assign them by size. As for the moldings etc. they are done
very clean and takes little work to assemble. Over all I'm pleased with them.

I picked up a box of these:

last year at Origins. They're definitely "servicable". They're cleanly molded
(all plastic in that box). Those that need assembly look like they'll fit
together well.

Details are okay, distinct enough that you pick them out with your
paint-job if you're reasonably careful, rough enough so that if you
don't want to see them you can tone them down.

I intend to use mose of the smaller ones as either system defense or pirate
ships and the larger ones will just be transports.

I've got a few boxes of the Decados/Hawkwood ships. They were sculpted
and cast by Agents of Gaming so if you are familiar with their B5 minis, you
have an idea of how these were done.

Yes, they are loose in the box and some were bent a little during transit but
nothing I couldn't fix. Some had quite a bit of flash but it was easy to
remove. Only the Decados and Hawkwood fleets are complete with capital ships,
the other fleets they offer only include escort sized ships.

The Hawkwood designs are OK but it was the Decados minis that drew me to these
fleets. I have finished a Decados fleet and put up a page of pictures and
designs here:

I don't have a link to it from my website yet so you can only get there
directly. Oerjan has given it a once over but per some of his comments, I've
modified the designs a bit. Their designs use normal human tech except
for non-tunable Pulsers for weapons and per their Noble Armada origins,
they reserve space for boarding marines to capture ships.

They painted up real well, though much of the 'painting' on them isn't paint.
I used a micron pen to do all the black geometric shapes and outlines.

They are nice looking ship designs. Love the green paint job very striking.

I love their plastics. For $25 you get all the escorts and light freighters
you could need. Some wouldn't even look too odd on the Dirtside field as well.

These are gorgeous -- details, details! They look like a green
metallic? And how did you do the ship designations on the bases?

Any special techniques for using the pen? How do you keep the ink from running
off?
