Subject: [FT] New Israel - Website

For those interested, I've put the first parts of the New Israel site. Most of
it is background, timeline, colonies, etc for now, but a number of ship
designs are up and more will come in time. I'm also trying to figure the best
way to present the fleet OrBat and the Ground forces that John Atkinson
generated for NI. Feedback is appreciated.

You can find it on the Xoom site:
http://members.xoom.com/gzg_l/ni/

Most of the ships in the NI fleet will be (when I can scrounge the dough)
Brigade Model minis. I've copied a number of the images from the Brigade site
to use in mine, and mention that in the site. However, if anyone from Brigade
would rather I put more attribution, I can, for example, to list the name and
model # of each mini with the image. If they would rather I not use their
images, I will remove them until I have my own minis to photograph.

For those that might be familiar with the Brigade minis, I'd like to know
whether the models I've selected match the ships I want to use them for ( I
have particular question about the size of the Laskov CA).

Noam

I've no problem with you using the pictures, if you listed the model # and
name as well that would be nice :-). I'll have a look at the site when
I've got time (in the middle of some tricky AI routines right now!) and give
you an opinion on the masses of your ships.

The Laskov is, I reckon, around mass 75-80 or so (my Laskov design is
mass
76).

Neet site! Very well organized. Cool! :-)

Say, what did you use to generate the system contents?

Thanks - basically just Navigator's clunky composer.

Got it off a set of web pages. I used the "planetary generation system" by
Ross Smith:
http://crash.ihug.co.nz/~r-smith/worlds/index.html

It's got software that I didn't use. I used his systema s a guideline to flesh
out the system concepts I already had.

Well Sheoot. What do I use for a Mass 57 CL,then? If you say the David,
then I have to ask about a Mass 34-37 destroyer), and what mass is the
Meir?

The closest is the Sharon, but you're already using that design as something
else. We have a new cruiser model due out v.soon (the master's finished but
the mould isn't) which is mass 52 and should suit perfectly.

I rate the Meir as mass 76.

I have been tinkering with that program also...The only thing that bugs me, is
the text will not "wrap" around an image in the editor. I have to load it into
the browser to see it. But other than that, it is a basic html editor (just my
speed).

I will have to check it out.
