I think that artwork is little exaggerated. A steamer should be able to
successfully run Cthulhu over.

"There was a mighty eddying and foaming in the noisome brine, and as the steam
mounted higher and higher the brave Norwegian drove his vessel head on against
the pursuing jelly which rose above the unclean froth like the stern of a
demon galleon. The awful
squid-head with writhing feelers came nearly up to the bowsprit of
the sturdy yacht, but Johansen drove on relentlessly." (The Call of Cthulhu.)

For FT, I think Azathoth would be a more likely belligerent...

Plus, I believe that his loathsome spawn tend to wander randomly throughout
the universe. Some of them would be the right size for FT, too.

And I seem to remember something about some kind of living planet, too.
Another interesting bit of terrain to create! I'd feel horribly tempted to use
some of those really creepy doll's eyes that you can find in crafty stores.

If I had any kind of mechancial or electrical skills, I'd hook 'em to a
battery somehow, and make 'em blink at random intervals. Now *that'd* be cool!

Yeah, yeah, that's the dude!

'course, by calling The Maker of the Doom of Worlds "dude" I've probably
doomed myself and this entire planet. Sorry 'about that.

I'm about half convinced at this point that an FT background based
on...actually, that's a little strong. How about "inspired by"? A background
INSPIRED BY the Cthulhu Mythos could be pretty damned cool. Not particularly
cheerful, though.

There's probably some Anime series that's already gone this route, isn't
there?

No problem, John.

I'd tend to go more with a SG or FMAS, though, and this might be a good time
to find out (or, more accurately, for someone else, not me,

Oh, I like the idea of starship sized godlings being set upon by determined
(albeit doomed) human. I particularly like the modelling possibilities....

That being said, "The Shadow Over Innsmouth: 2250 AD" might be a fun scenario
to run. Your basic Deep One will be cut to pieces by modern weapons, but
enough of them would make a valid threat...especially with support provided by
those relatives who are still human enough to use a gun.

So many possibilites!
