As a firm believer in the use of Needle Missiles, a controversy arose
concerning the ability of DC parties to repair needle beam damage.

The general consensus was that needle beams *fry* the system and couldn't be
repaired until the ship was in a base with repair faculties. However, there is
nothing written in the rules (FT,MT,FB) that makes this interpretation legit.

Alas, as I am stuck playing with rule lawyers, I need a resolution to this
situation.

MT page 6 seems quite clear:

Of course.... if you really don't want to get hung up by the rules...

You could always go with the story that systems could be restored... the
DC parties manage to re-route through other systems.... and jury-rig
with spare parts....

Say.....
2 DC checks to bring systems hit by needle beams back on line. And even
then... half power? with another 1 or 2 DC checks it can be brought up
to 2/4s?
