Anybody have a source for the following:

Battlestar (from Battlestar Galactica) in FT scale (4" or so). Used to be one
from Comet but can't find those anywhere so far.

Stellardyne Ark Royal or other standins for ships seen in Space Above and
Beyond (carrier Saratoga and hammerhead fighters)

Spaceship Yamato miniatures of a reasonable
size (I'd expect 4-5" or so for something big).
Seems like the ones I can find are very small possibly due to the SY game
scale?

Thanks.

Might be worth contacting Comet directly - there is all sorts of stuff
in dark recesses of their shop that doesn't get listed in the catalogue, so
they may have one hanging about somewhere

Try getting hold of the Bandai plastic kits - these are almost exactly
the size you're looking for (and reasonably priced to boot). You should be
able to find them in the US, although HobbyLinkJapan have a some in stock

http://www.hlj.com

the prices work out to be around $6-$10 each if my Yen-Sterling-Dollar
conversion worked. I have a small number that I bought from Comet.

If they exist, is there a better way to contact them? I haven't tried phoning
them yet, just emailing them.

Have you actually tried asking Comet? They've got a website at
(unsurprisingly...) <www.cometminiatures.co.uk>. They may still have it in
production.

The little plastic kit ones (Bandai?) - may still be some around....
Just the right size. Try some of the Japanese specialist kit dealers.

I kind of thought they might be a website with nothing behind it ---
that is I thought they might have gone out of business and left the website
behind.

Okay, first up, let me assure you that Comet are alive and well. Their website
has been updated lately, and I bought 2 ST kits from them a few months ago.

The bad news is that the Mini-Metals range, which included the
Battlestar, is out of production at present; Tony tells me that they plan to
bring them back once the moulds are reworked (or something like
that -- I'm remembering a phone conversation here), but there is no
schedule for that, so when it happens (_if_ it happens) is in the lap
of the gods. Hold not thy breath...

Phil, who also wants a couple of Battlestars -- plus one to convert <g>
