Hiya Tom! As much as I'd like the K'rathri to be part of the party, I'm not
sure how keen everyone else will be to have them kicking things around
<G>.
Remember, in the Wing Commander series, the actual Kilrathi Empire is
significantly larger than the entire Terran Confederation - both in area
and
fleet strength. While this makes for good combat-against-superior-foe
space opera in both the games and the books, they might upset the applecart a
bit too much for the Tuffleyverse.

Now, having said that, I can see how the K'rathri could be used to good effect
as a counterbalance to the Kra'vak. The kats are just as mean and just as
fractious as the bugs are, and I can imagine all sorts of nasty little wars
between them going on 'in the background', away from human space. Also, the
K'rathri tend to skirmish quite heavily between themselves all of the
time -
interclan warfare is such a lovely pastime...:)

I think the Kilrathi are unnecessarily duplicative, to the point of being
excessively superfluous and multiply redundant--we already have the
Kra'Vak......and I cringe when I think of copyright law with respect to them.

K'rathri, not Kilrathi - a subtle but significant difference. The
K'rathri are an amalgamation of Kilrathi [WC], Zheeerlikou'valkhannaieee
[Weber], Klingon [ST], and Kzinti [Niven].

To each his own. In my mind, there's always room in the universe for another
large, hostile, carnivorous foe.

Hrrr???? As long as I'm the only one creating logos and graphics, I really
don't see how this can become a problem. If you didn't notice, a *lot* of
authors use a "K" word when they create hostile cat/felinoid races.
