G'day,
The recent spate of "subs-in-space" subject lines reminded me of
the number of Anime movies I've seen that have some form of converted naval
vessel flying around quite happily. So this leads me onto the question,
Apart from the Starblazers minatures are there any other starship minatures
out there that look like naval ships in space or even give you the feel of a
naval vessel in space?
I'd be interested in finding some for my IAS fleet.
Cheers

There are the two hyper space subs from the old Valiant line, which are
next to impossible to find now-a-days. Also some of the ships in GW's
Spacefleet look somewhat like ships, especially some of the Imperial and Eldar
ones. They have a distinctive style which may or may not work with your fleet.
I've got pictures/drawings of all of these on my web site at

Speaking of starblazers minitures, has anyone bought them, and if so, what
were your experiences? From what I've seen, they have tons of small flanges
and antenna that have to be attatched, and looked very likely to come off or
get smashed in normal handling. Can anyone with a set confirm or deny?

Starblazers
minis...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I are currently trying to stick together/paint/mount a
set for our son to use in FT. In hindsight, a nice idea at the time (seeing as
they were a swap for paint jobs we were doing and so we didn't have to cop
the price-tag which (in Australia at least) is GW in proportions), but
they are a REAL pain to get together. When they're finally together they look
really nice and paint up really well, mind you Lochy hasn't actually got to
use them yet so I don't know how well they'll stand up to handling..

And the opposing fleets would be the 'Innies' vs. the 'Outies' then?
Painted orange, of course... >^_^<
On a more serious note, can you reccommend any good lines of naval minis and
manufacturers that would convert well to FT? I did try going to your website,
but couldn't load it through the firewall.:(

Sorry you could not get it through a firewall. If your really interested I
could send them to you by email. The lists themselves are only a half megabyte
or so long. If you add in the pictures then the total is around 24 megabytes!
I don't play navel games so I don't know anything about navel miniatures,
except for a bit of Man'O'War I use to play. Maybe someone else on the list
can help.
Enjoy,
