Just a short message to let all FT players that version 1.4 of the FTSC is now
available at www.ftsc.atfreeweb.com Goto the downloads page, then find the
link at the bottom. If you don't have version 1.3, fill out the form and it
will take you to the file (version 1.4 don't worry about the form)
This version fixes a range of bugs and is to hold you all off until version
2.0 is ready for testing.
It is recommended you save everything you want to print as a bitmap, then open
it up in something like MSPaint and print it. This is because my printing code
is a little flawed and brings up any fax software you have installed. (Okay,
that was an understatement, I know). Version 2 is under construction and
should be about twice as good as the current version.

*Twice* as good? I'll be able to think "Oh, let's design a Rim Confederation
battlecruiser" and the software will automatically design the ship for me,
pick out a class name without me having to agonize over it, and
It wouldn't be hard to add in a random name generator, and a random ship
construction might be possible (even if it would tend to be rather silly). As
for a B&W printer.... get a new printer if you want color.

All true, but it's the neural input that's the bite. ;->=
Still, it's marvelous strong praise he's made, and I'm going to give it a go.
I'm still wondering why Andrew's making another contact list. Indy's could be
'improved' by snazzy lookups, I suppose, and it'd be nice if UFTWWWP would
have a working link to the contact page instead of just to the main page.
But, wouldn't a coordination of efforts be more appropriate? Just a thought
from someone who has contributed soooo much less than all of the fine efforts
mentioned.

I didn't realise the FTSC was so highly rated, maybe I should just say nothing
next time.
Who knows, I may put in a facility to define doctrines, and then have the
program make a ship. Problem with that is that everyone has a different
interpretation about ship doctrines.

I agree, but I didn't know of the other player list before I made mine. I've
being on this mailing group only 2 weeks now. Besides the list database is
disabled by my host. It currently has 115 entries.

Well, I guess this is as good an opening as any!
If you're looking for a GZG-playing opponent in your area, or are
