...but, of the gallery pages listed, only the GeoHex one still exists.

For my part, I paint the FSE ships black and then drybrush them heavily with
dark gray. There's pictures at:

Light grey with a color stripe running diagnolly from upper left to lower
right; said stripe is the colors of the FSE member country's home flag (eg,
Italian ships
have a red/white/green stripe, French red/white/blue, etc)

Beth Fulton's FSE has something of a "dazzle" pattern in various
shades of blue, IIRC, but you may find that intimidating/too time
intensive (I did, anyway). I'd be inclined to try a fairly light blue (or
possibly gold) between the panels, and paint the panels white or
