Don't you mean class 1's? 3's are the big mutha's.

Anyway interesting post thanks, AAR's awaited with expectation.

Ya'll remember the design sequence Mr.Schoonmaker posted a while back? The one
that gave 2 points or armor per mass, and a free 50% increase in
hull boxes, with RGs weighing 1/2/4, scatterguns Mass 2, and K'V weapons
costing 4 per mass, 2 per armor mass, and the hull and drives are 3 per mass?
Well, I finally got around to designing some K'V using this sequence. To find
mass, I multiplied the More Thrust values by 2.5, and made the Light Carrier
arbitrarily the same mass as the Battledreadnout.

Overall, I'm very happy with the results. I'll be cutting the RGs to 1 arc
except for the Class 3s, although depending in playtests I may allow the 3s to
go up to 3 arcs and the class 2s to go up to 2. My only concern is that
between the high thrust and the mass 2 scatterguns, the scoutship masses 11! I
guess Kra'Vak just tend not to use really small ships. The trend I noticed was
that if I wanted to stuff decent armor onto the ship, I had to use a weak
hull, which gave the K'V the same hull boxes as a Human ship the same size,
but a lot of armor.

I only did the stats up for those minis which I own-- scoutship,
frigate, destroyer, patrol cruiser, heavy cruiser, battledreadnought, and
light carrier. I'll do the other designs later today, and will try to get them
up on a webpage this weekend if there is any interest (not
today--Family Thang)

The ships were also very expensive--about the same as a Human ship one
class up. The battledreadnought is 693, and the CVL is a whopping 760! (This
includes their Heavy Fighter squadrons) This, to me, explains why K'V don't
use fighters much, and the Strike Carriers are exceedingly rare. The carriers
are soooo expensive. Based on the comments in Los's Rot Hafen story, I was
planning of making it a 'house rule' that in scenarios set in the first few
years of the war, K'V fighters will not
have aces, and will consist of about 1/2 green squadrons. After a few
years, the Humans teach them fighter doctrine the Hard Way.

I hope to get in some playtesting over the next couple of days, I'll let ya'll
know.
