Hi All,

As is generally known, the current rules allow all fighters to be launched at
once.

However, what about a bay that has no direct access? Sort of like the
difference between an SMR and a SML/Magazine combination.

My thought is that the savings, if such a thing were to be done, should be
small. As the approach "phase" of a battle is likely to last at least two
turns, not being able to launch all your fighters at once is hardly a severe
penalty.

Making the MASS less seems wrong to me, so there's just the NPV to "worry"
about. Costing at 2 per MASS is WAY too drastic. Ideas?

If it doesn't have a practical effect, then just call it a Special Effect and
don't worry with it. The only time I see it having an effect is a) carrier is
ambushed just coming out of Jump; or b) if you're trying to rearm

Exactly right.

It only comes into play when recovering ships. They should not be counted
toward the number of fighter bays when calculating for the number of fighter
groups that can be recovered in a turn.

Also if rearming multiple fighter groups, add 2 to the number of turns to
rearm if used (1 to move from the outer fighter bay to the inner and then from
the inner to the outer fighter bay.

2 points per bay mass (not counting fighter cost) sounds too light. But it is
part way between a normal fighter bay and a cargo hold. <shrug>

Obviously if the outter bay is damaged, the inner bay could not be used.

The limitation is not so much that they cannot be launched at once, it is
that they cannot all be re-armed at once. However, any battle that
lasts long enough for the fighters to have expended all of their endurance has
probably already been won or lost.
