Some questions for the list on all 3 games:

1.Does anyone remember a series of sci-fi books published circa 1980 by
Crown Publishers (UK) and Crescent publ.(USA) with the following titles:
Spaceships Great Space Battles
Aliens in Space--isbn# 0-517-29223-8--only one I can find--in local
library Settlers in Space Worlds at War
--these books were part of the Galactic Encounters
series;reason I ask is I would like to get these books if possible, for they
are a treasure trove of scenario ideas for all 3 games;if anyone
can help I would appreciate it---email off list ok.
I wont waste bandwidth with plot descriptions, but if curious i will provide
details.

Has anyone read "Battlefields Beyond Tomorrow"?
It is sci-fi war stories by 25 authors;again great scenario potential. It
is published by Bonanza Books,NY;isbn# 0-517-64105-4.
Am working on idea for DS2 concerning infantry that can teleport
in,surprise attack, teleport out--finally defeated by use of battlefield
computers detecting patterns and feeding info to friendlies on where to
target weapons ("turn right 45 degrees and fire n 2 seconds")--David
Drake had a similar story in one of his books. This book has one of his
stories in it--that is how I found out about him.

This leads to my next question---is the Xenology center off the web? i
linked to it through Brian Bell's site a few days ago,but now get message
"xoom.com member page not found." Anyone know where I can find it again? Would
like to post my teleport rules when worked out....

Well, there's SORTA a suppression rule already in DS II - any infantry
that is fired on, by anything, regardless of the effect of the dameage,
receives an "Under fire" marker (This includes, I believe, ineffective fire
from other infantry). They must then make a reaction test before they can
move.
