Sorry, mind blown, core dumped. Doing it in 1/76 is *hard*. Doing
it in 1/300. Repeatedly. That's ..er....
OK, I admit that I painted some tartan kilts on some 1/300
highlanders, but that was actually easier using the technique I invented.
I dips me lid to you, Derek..
G'day Alan,
> He painted the WW I German
Actually I did that - he's not that insane ;)
> OK, I admit that I painted some
Actually I wouldn't mind hearing about that... I've got some ideas for a
new DS project and that kind of information would come in VERY handy.
Cheers

Beth, I have to admire your courage, tenacity, and psychosis.

INGREDIENTS: Thin White undercoat. Thin Red acryllic. Black fibre pen. Humbrol
or other relatively thick enamel Yellow paint. ditto Green. Scalpel Thin
needle. Brush, thinners (turps and water)
Undercoat figure. Paint Red. Wait till completely dry. Paint Yellow. Wait till
completely dry. Now wait a bit longer. Paint Green.
Wait till just about dry-ish, should be slightly tacky.
Using the needle point, scrape away the green paint in lines, leaving narrow
yellow bands. Using the scalpel, scrape away all the thick paint in lines,
leaving the thinne st possible while still visible( <.05 mm) lines of red. Use
dots of black in appropriate places using fibre pen to darken up places.
What the world needs is a good Tartan Paint....

And as a Scot, may I thank you for calling it "tartan" and not "plaid"? Plaid
is a garment, not a pattern.
Sorry, just had to be said...
G'day Alan,

But obviously not the stupidity which is the prime ingredient;)

Assuming I manage to avoid dismembering myself with the needle and scalpel
scratching stage this could come in very handy thankyou.

Stripey and spotty paint not mention camo paint would also be very useful;)
Have a nice weekend guys.
