Subject: Re: [FT] Can't access FT Computer Core
Thanks for the help.
I was able to access
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Station/3565/index.html
with JavaScript turned off. However, without JavaScript enabled, I
can't click on the e-mail button under Feedback. I wanted to
point out these access problems. So, if the webmaster for the FT Computer Core
website reads this, could you please modify your
page so that I can access it with JavaScript turned on? Or have some
other way of allow us to send feedback with JavaScript turned off.
Or tell me what I'm missing here.
Thanks.

can have a set rotation (not changeable) throughout the game

This would work, but you could also use that Thrust 1 to slightly alter

GZG-UK has UNSC Hammer fighters that have a definitely hammerhead shape,
though you'll realize these are FT-size fighters. Stellardyne had, IMHO,
the closest to Saratoga-style ships, and we're still waiting for Dean to
let us know if/when they'll be available. ;->=
There's a regular WCC(West Coast Convention) of GZG systems, but you'll
usually find some GZG in most moderate and larger cons. GenCon has a pretty
awesome representation, and if I ever get my poop in a group, so will other
mid-continent cons I attend. Keep watching the list; members usually
announce cons they're attending and/or running.

We tried to get the earlier weekend at the hotel so we'd have a two week

> But the key question here is how tight can I have my orbit be and NOT
OK, it is generally reckoned that the Earth's atmosphere extends to
about 1000 km above the surface, though the ionosphere (50-1000 km)
is relatively thin.
In your game terms, that would be 1" out from the surface of your planet.
Thus, any orbit of r=8 game inches or higher would be "stable."
As for your formula requests (these assume a mass equal to earth):
r=(2.16*10^4)*T^2/3, where T is measured in seconds, results in meters
...or assuming 15 minute turns as well:
r=(2.32)*t^2/3, where t is in 15 minute game turns, results in game
inches
T=(3.15*10^(-7))*r^3/2, where T is in seconds and r in meters
t=(3.5*10^(-1))*r^3/2, r in game inches, results in 15 minute game turns
You loose some accuracy by using the "ultra-simplified" versions.

Quite possibly. I read on rec.games.miniatures.misc (or historical) that you
can make soft plastic miniatures (ERTL, Airfix, Revell, ESCI) more rigid for
painting by spraying them first with spray adhesive. This is essentially white
glue as an aerosol. I suspect it would work on wood, too, though you may have
to do a couple of coats.

I have a friend who extracts some of the plastic resin from these figures by
soaking them for 24 hours in bleach, then 24 hours in ammonia - then
washing them with soap and water. I rely on several coats of gloss overcoat
and find that works just fine.

Well, the way I did it is pretty simple. You can find it on my web site at:

Click on the "Core Systems" link under House Rules.
For the person looking for the FB errata, I have the errata for both fleet
books on the site, too.
