I've played in two campaigns and both were of this nature. They have a set
time frame for a strategic campaign with plenty of options for engineering a
tactical engagement, but keeping the game simple enough to complete it

in a reasonable time frame.

I'd like to see rules for in-system 'strategic' movement leading up to
a tactical engagement. Mikko had a campaign recently that used thrust points
for acceleration within the Solar system.

I *strongly* advise against using Newtonian movement for large scale
maneuvers. I had to make a special program for the players to get them to use
it and even then only half of them did, this being in a player base of
engineering and math students.

A player wants to move his forces from point A to point B without making

*any* calculations. Even worse, they often want to "pursue etc." without
bothering to make plans for such action.
