I do NOT interpert the "rules" that way. A MT missle
is an MT missile and governed by the anti-missile
rules in MT

Salvo Missiles are governed by the anti-missile rules
in FB1. Heavy Missiles are NOT MT Missiles.

A huge difference.

No problem, but if you send an analysis (or ship design, or scenario, or
whatever) to the List, it would be good to mention at the time that
they're using "pre-FB MT missiles rather than current HM missiles", or
something to that effect -- just to avoid confusion.

Perhaps this would be a good suggestion for the FAQ, if it's not already in
there... that when one is posting one's opinions or analysis of game
mechanics, that one should indicate the specific rules used to
conduct that opinion or analysis, ie: FT straight, FT+MT, Pre-FB1,
Pre-FB2, inclusion of any errata (which I've seen posted in a few
places), as well as indicating any specific house rules, or house
interpretations of the rules...

Might also look at adding something about the whole MT missle thing, as that
it has come up more than once

The anti-missile rules in MT only cover *PDAF* and *ADAF*. If your ships

use the FB1 systems *PDS* and *ADFC* instead, their fire against MT missiles
are governed by the rules for *PDS* and *ADFC* in FB1 (since MT

doesn't have any rules for either of those systems) - and those rules
cover the performance of PDS and ADFC against *both* types of missiles, ie.
both the MT and the Salvo varieties.

Not if your ships are defended by PDAF and ADAF, no.

Heavy Missiles are the FB-updated version of MT missiles.

And I'd still like to see your (hopefully updated since last September)
analysis of Salvo Missiles vs. PDS...

Sorry, I missed this in my reply this morning:

<chuckle> So you insist that there's a huge difference between MT missiles and
HMs, yet at the same time you insist that rules which explicitly talk about
*PDAF and ADAF* should be applied to *PDS and ADFC* which are just as
different from PDAF and ADAF as the HMs are from the MT missiles? :-)

My analysis is for FB1 salvo missiles and MT missiles, separately.

i'll post it as soon as I can find which box I put it in when I moved last
year.
