Subject: [FT] Babylon 5

My regular games group played a game using Jon's Babylon 5 FT rules from the
Babylon Project's Earth Force Sourcebook recently. We enjoyed it immensely,
(although my Mimbari War Cruiser had to jump out with only 4 hull boxes
remaining after being picked on by 2 Omega's and some Narn thing), and we are
thinking of putting a campaign together.

I was wondering if anyone out there has translated any of the other B5 ship's
or those from AOG's B5W to FT? or had any other rules for B5FT.

Thanks in advance

This brings up an interesting question: Jon, has Chameleon Eclectic (or
whomever did the ship rules) contracted with you to do more material to
support for EFSB ship designs? I seem to recall hearing of a new product, but
haven't seen anything lately.

Course, I also seem to recall you having difficulty getting payments, so
forgive me if this is a sore subject. Has Mr.Sparks done anything lately?

Related note, who did the Centauri ship that appeared in Shadis?

Lastly, any comments about comparing and contrasting the two flavors of FT
with the EFSB (I recall comments before, but few since it's release)
especially construction systems would be appreciated. Yes, I'm lazy.

Gosh, that was a whole BUNCH'A questions. ;->=

PS. As you can see below, rather than getting any further on the story, I've
only emblished. I'm a sufferer of congenital verbosity. *sigh*

*blush*

PS. continued from last note...

*TWANG* The captain swung around just in time to see the
sensor/ordinance
rating drop back into his accel couch. Having obviously bounced his head off
an inopportune strut, his low mumble equally obviously included inappropriate,
if unintelligible, language.

‘Mister Motawbe, now you know why regs require that you keep your protective
gear on…’

‘M’lady, if you were in a ship of a size befitting your rank, I’d have a
lot fewer bumps on this noggin of mine.’

The response that, no matter where the captain commanded, the rating would be
serving in this ship was left unsaid.

Captain, Dame Megan Evans, commanding the lancer, NAC Shoshone, glanced around
her cramped bridge, and allowed herself a small smile. Having climbed up the
ranks carrying a burden of commoner’s blood, and worse, American birth, she
could be proud of her position.

Her simple, no-nonsense integrity required acceptance that the NAC
navy’s egalitarian promotion policies were more show than real, as she knew
her
original homeland accepted amalgamation over self-destruction.

Several small displays came to life, indicating fleet deployment for TK
insertion, and vectors for Shoshone to take position. Several short orders
given, repeated, then executed, though already entered and ready, and the
small packet of death moved. The crew knew there would be no trick variance
from fleet command instructions to catch them off guard today, but they still
hung on her every word.

In addition to the links Tim sent out, go to the TBP Shipbuilders Guild for
B5W conversions and links to more rules.

Not sure what is going on - I haven't heard from them for a while.

Payment now all settled, so no problems here.:)

Dunno, sorry.:)

The simple answer is there WAS no construction system used for the EFSB
-
we just tried to reflect each ships' perceived capabilities as we interpreted
them from TV.

I have a set of rules for converting the EFSB ships over to the Fleet Book
rules on my web site. You can find them here:

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Nebula/2470/gzghome.html

I have ship designs for all of the EFSB ships in Fleet Book designs and
points, I just haven't had time to finish them and post them to my site yet,
but stay tuned! I'll have them there before I get married in November. I hope.

Well, I extracted the digit and finished my warship designs for my
EFSB-FB
conversion rules. The ships on my new Designs page are all the original ships
from the EFSB modified to fit the Fleet Book construction rules with the few
modifications listed in my EFSB conversion rules. The link to the Designs page
is found at my GZG LZ Site noted above. Now all I have to do is get to and
come up with some of the civilian designs from the EFSB.
