Subject: [FT] Another thought on spinal mounts
I'd be tempted to make any ship firing a spinal mount to a) write it in their orders b) announce it after SMLs and plasma bolts are placed c) resolve it in part 8) of the FB2 turn sequence (Missile, Plasma Bolt, Fighter Attacks), specifically in the order plasma bolts, spinal mounts, missiles, then fighters. In the list above, a) and b) mean fleets will need to co-ordinate to avoid friendly fire and wasted ordnance, c) means spinal mounts are decisive anti-ship weapons rather than area effect anti-fighter or anti-missile weapons. Arguably, c) is at odds with giving spinal mounts a 60 degree F arc for their shots.
