As has been noted previously, 1st CanAm FT was a lopsided victory for Team USA
(and we won't mention Team Maple Leaf's FMASk victory the preceding
night). I'm considering the following:
1. Cinematic (and it's *staying* cinematic this time--you have
plenty of time to practice) 2. Each player gets 2 CH or 4 CL or 8 DD.
3. If half your group is knocked out, you get another half-group as
reinforcements--repeat as needed.
4. Of course, the winner is the one who does the most with the least 5.
Hitting the planet (or neutron star, whatever) will still be a bad
thing--but very amusing.
I am thinking to build a couple different versions of each class (eg 300 point
versions for NSL, FSE etc for the CH); players will be able to select the
nationality they prefer, but the ships will not be customizable.

Cinematic favors ships with liberal firing arcs since you can't spin to the
place you think the enemy will be.

Why only one ship? What about a mixed fleet (CH, CL, 2 DD's or some such)?

What are the exit criteria. Couldn't this go on forever?

How so, what are the victory conditions?

Wouldn't hitting a planet destroy you? Are you allowing orbits, and if so, how
would they be accomplished. I always thought it would be nice to have rules
where you could slingshot around a planet, picking up speed.

quite possible

Didn't I just say? Or do you want a specific formula (which I'll probably come
up with this evening while I'm pretending to pay attention to the meeting)?

see "bad thing" above

At this past GZGECC the planet had different magnitude of gravity at different
range bands, and you could kind of slingshot around (which is what TomB did).
IIRC we decided that "the effect of gravity is based on your

Probably ("points you destroy"+"points you have left on table")/"points
you bring on table"
There has also been a request to allow New Israeli & Islamic Fed ships into
the mix, which is okay with me--in fact, it may be interesting to have
just a straight NI vs IF battle, rather than have Big Four units.
Of course, the NI would not get their various non-standard capabilities
except as rationalization of standard capabilities ("NI Stealth-1 ships
work
exactly like anyone else's ships with Screen-1").

The following is pretty standard at CANCON, Australia's
