How about FMA to start the list codes? After all, the fantasy combat rules
looks like they will be out soon. FMA or Full Metal Anorak (TM) better
describes the family of game systems from GZG. FMA shows more respect for GZG
and Jon Tuffley. Any comments, suggestions, etc, are welcome.

Andrew,

I'm not sure that I understand. What would fall under the [FMA] category?
Everything? Just Fantasy?

The FMA code would start every email sent to (or from) the FTGZG-L
mailing list. I'm not sure what you would use for the fantasy rules that I've
heard being mentioned on this list. Perhaps FNT or S&S? So, if I was talking
about, say, a proposal to base beam weapon ranges
upon the inverse of the target's mass/length, the codes would be:
FMA FT: Beam weapon ranges modified by target's length. Or, future history of
the Oceanic Union: FMA FH OU: New Zealand's role in 2200. Or, Alternate DSII
weapons for ADS: FMS DSII ADS: Alternate weapons. The FMA code is there to
help people sort out email. Particularly if they subscribe to several emailing
lists. Hope this helps!

-The problem with this is, FT is not an FMA game IIRC. FMA refers to
Dirtside 2, Stargrunt II and the upcoming FMA Skirmish/ Full Metal
Codpiece.

But Full Thrust isn't an FMA system... if you really want a flag applicable to
the list, I suspect that [GZG] would be the most
appropriate one :-/

FMA is the SF skirmish game (as well as a name for the SGII/DSII/FMA/FMC
mechanics), BTW - the fantasy game is called FMC (Full Metal Codpiece).

(Black Adder!)

New Proposal How about, instead, we use "F" as the start instead of "GZG" or
my former proposal of "FMA". It fits FMA, Full Thrust, and Full Metal
Codpiece? Any comments, suggestions, corrections, etc?

Really? I kinda pictured the whole chain of islands as being one or two

Really though... I wonder if John and company have any plans to develope their
own story-line, maybe with supplements for each of the major powers
(like the house books for BattleTech tm.). I'm rather dying for more stuff on
the NAC!

Andrew spake thusly upon matters weighty:

For someone who plays SG2, I'd rather see GZG as the code. F nothing.... how
about S.... (grin). If Jon wants a business kind of
code, make it GZG-BIZ or something. I'm not even quite sure why you
figure we need this anyway.... (I plead ignorance....convincingly...).
