So when are you going to start selling *small* metal hex stands for use with
lighter classes? IIRC you should have a production mould for them
stashed away somewhere ;-)

production? We're talking about a small metal hex base about
(from memory - I don't have one here to measure - OO?) 18mm or so
across, to take either a metal or plastic post. With the plastic posts, they'd
probably retail about 1.00 GBP for a pack of 3 or 4.

How will there ever be a demand for them if you never tell anyone that they
exist? <g>
When I custom-ordered mine, you said that you'd have to make a
production mould for them since I needed so many. If you did that, it
shouldn't be
that much extra work to cast a few to put on display at Salute and/or
ask Paul to put them into the web store... that way you'll soon learn if
there's a demand for them <g> ('Course, if you *didn't* make a production
mould for them it'd be a lot more work for you now too!)

14mm between opposite sides, 16mm between opposite corners. I use them for
ships up to FF size or thereabouts which don't extend very far outside the
base, and I typically mount these ships on half-height posts (either the
short GW ones or standard plastic ones cut down to size) so the small ships
can fit under larger ones when they are in base-to-base contact (or even
with bases overlapping, since the small hex bases are flat and relatively
thin).
Later,
Well if you were going to make bases I'd rather see them circular. Hex bases
have edges, which over the years seem to allow miniatures to fall over in one
of six directions. The miniatures I have mounted on circular
based are far less prone to fall over.
Well there has been no study of the behaviour only observations over the
years.

Jon (GZG)
Count me as a potential buyer, plastic stands have certain limits in my
experience. Definite limits...
Gracias,

Jon has had these how long??????
They are perfect for my needs!
I know, less miniatures, but still these sound good.

In my experience circular bases are just as prone to fall over; they just do
it in more random directions than the hex ones <shrug> In addition the
circular bases don't make it nearly as easy to determine course changes,
nor (if you use the smooth GW-style bases rather than the "studded"
GeoHex ones) to determine fire arcs.
Besides, if Jon is to make circular bases he'll have to sculpt new ones
-
the hexagonal ones already exist...

As long as the main bunch of new KV ships have been available, so IIRC
about a year and a half. He's just never told anyone about them :-/

Ummmm....yes, want to see in production. So many of my plastic ones have
busted over the years. :-( (plastic's fine with plastic and small
metal
ships, but the larger vessels...maybe I play too rough ;-)

FT004 Small hex bases (metal) with plastic posts, pack of 4 1.00 GBP per pack.
Happy now? ;-)

Yes!! Depending on whether or not I win two painted GZG APCs in 25 mm on Ebay,
this week or next you should get my initial order (going to be several smaller
orders rather then one gigantic one I am afraid, especially if wife's surgery
doesn't go well as anticipated).
10 GBP should get me 40 small bases or 35 small bases and a pack of the
large bases. That should do for a start. I just realized how many ships I
have... Gulp! Anyone interested in some excess assorted (Star Blazer and
(IIRC) Silent Death) spaceships?

As a matter of fact Glen..... <VEG> I'm very interested indeed. Perhaps if you
could slap together a few pics or a rough list or something, we can talk:D
