G'day,

I'm finally getting around to thinking of a "sensible" human SG force. I don't
mind the Gurkhas or the NSL Panzergrens but both of those have been done down
here. So does anyone know of a line of good looking modern 25mm figs (Vietnam
era onward)? Preferrably UK but anything nice is worth knowing about.

Thanks

G'day guys,

Thanks for the figs Don I don't think I could've found them without your help!

Unfortunately the guys here have gone for GZG 25mm or Warzone, i-core,
GW etc 28mm so 20mm is a tad too small. If I wasn't being asked to get a
serious human army for campaigns etc this time round I would've gone down as
small as 6mm for this force.... I'm reading Lachy Robotech at the moment so
anything from 6mm upto 54mm + should work under those constraints ;)

Thanks for the info anyway.

Eureka makes Special Forces figures. These look pretty good (I have 40 of them
primed). They come with a variety of heads. Two or three head types are police
SWAT, and a couple are definitely special forces with balaclavas. However,
there are one or two that have typical US style kevlar helmets. These would
work well (though, being Eureka, they are a little on the big side compared to
regular SG2 figures).

I remember Derek mentioning these sounds like I'd better take another look
;)

It seems as if SciFi figures get a new upgrade every couple of years. This
corresponds with the release of a popular SciFi movie or series of books or
popular set of miniatures (see I do support GZG). I am rather fortunate in
that I bought all that great stuff and painted some and stored the stuff I
wasn't ready to paint when I ran across it (yes I am a miniature's packrat).

In 25mm the first set I ran across was from a company called McEwan minatures.
I ended up purchasing 10 seperate forces of platoon strength
(40 to 110 figures). I also have about 10+ additional platoons of other
races from other companies that I have run across. The only problem with 25mm
is a shortage of buildings in prebuilt condition and the cost of them when you
do find them.

I went to 6mm because it gave me not only the figures but also the buildings I
wanted. It also gave me battalion size games on a 1 to 1 scale (OK 2 to 1
for non PA Inf.). At last count I had 800+ vehicles 150+ buildings and
5 bn
of Inf (2 painted). Throw in 100+ Battlemechs and landing craft and drop
ships ( preproduction runs that never went into production) and it gets
interesting.

Wow, do you have any pictures of these, or your friends'? That's quite a lot.

The GZG generic mercs (SGM product codes at Eureka and GZG) might work well
for this.
