Subject: Field Manuals

I'm taking advantage of the fact that I have a T1 line at work, and
downloading military field manuals (from http://www.adtdl.army.mil/ )
which
might be applicable to SG/FMAS.

Right now I've got:
FM3-0 Operations
FM3-90 Tactics
FM6-30 Chapter 4, Call for Indirect Fire
FM7-7 Mech Infantry Platoon
FM7-10 Rifle Company
FM17-15 Tank Platoon
FM21-75 Combat Skills
FM90-10 and FM90-10-1 Combat in Built Up Areas
and also the CIA World Factbook

This is about 145MB but I'll be burning it on a CD so I've got plenty of

How about:

FM 1-112 Attack Helicopter operations
FM 1-114 Air Cavalry
FM 90-13 River Crossing operations
FM 90-3 Desert operations
FM 90-5 Jungle Operations
FM 100-20 Operations in a low intensity environment

"okay, come one, come all! Getcher CDs, fresh CD's! Only $1, and that's
cuttin' me own throat ! (that's Ankh-Morpork dollars, of
course--exchange
rate with $US to be determined, this figure does not include shipping and
handling, taxes, tag, title, underbody coat, warranty, extended warranty,
depreciation, insurance, etc. Sausage-onna-bun also available)"

Between the CD's, envelopes, postage and whatever I've overlooked (<vbg>and my
professional rate, which when last I heard from Accounting was slightly
less than $0.06 per five minute increment </vbg>), let's assume the
total will be something like $5 a copy (to pick a figure out of the air, I'll
provide more accurate figures when I get them). Of course multiple copies
shipped to one location would be cheaper (or, if you have a CD burner handy,
you can get a single and duplicate it). Assuming my out-of-pocket total
is not unreasonably high, I would mail them probably next week, and you send
me
a check/money order when you get it. Or I can just bring them to
GZGECC, if you're willing to wait and Life doesn't interfere with my ability
to get
there--in that case, you're only talking about the cost for the CD
itself.

For people in the UK, I'm happy to serve as a distribution point - I
have a CD burner and lots of bandwidth...

(Chris? Up to you. Let me know off-list if you think this is worth

I'm currently painting up a flight of Future Wars Attack VTOLs. They are done
in a boring olive green with Vallejo khaki for drybrushing. I've kept the
windows black. Does anyone og to the trouble of embellishing the windows with
gloss varnish or a few lines to give it that reflective look? Are there any
other nifty techniqies I should know about? Also what have other painters done
to their VTOLs (or aerospace fighters for that matter)? Thanks very much.
