Subject: FiCon rules for Full Thrust

Here are some ideas for enhanced Fire Control systems to be used for Full
Thrust. These rules are optional, and should be considerd that way until they
are fully playetested.

BASIC FIRE CONTROL-

Basic FiCon is, traditionally, the same kind used aboard merchant
ships and ships that don't need to carry military-grade ordance. A
Basic FiCon is MASS 2, and costs 5 points(if a regular FiCon is replaced with
a Basic FiCon, subtract 5 points from the cost).

Basic FiCon has the following modifiers-
*All AA, A, and B batteries using a Basic FiCon have a -1 to all dice
rolls when firing. *Cannot use Pulse Torpedoes or Needle Beams *C Batteries,
PDAF, and ADAF systems are unaffected.

Basic FiCon are marked with a B next to the FiCons that are
Basic-type.

STANDARD FIRE CONTROL-

Standard FiCon is the system used in normal games of Full Thrust. There are no
modifiers.

ENHANCED FIRE CONTROL-

Enhanced FiCon tends to be mounted on ships like escort crusiers and
battleships, which need the best in fire control systems, but doesn't want to
pay for the Superior FiCon. Enhanced FiCon costs 15 points for a new system,
and 5 points to upgrade a standard FiCon to Enhanced.

Enhanced FiCon has the following advantages:
*All batteries gain a +1 to all rolls. The only exception are AA
battieres, which cannot modify a 1 on any dice. *Needle Beams can disable
targeted systems on a 5 or a 6, but only at a range of 4" or less.
*Pulse Torpedoes gain a +1 to the damage dice.
*If C Batteries are used as anti-missile/anti fighter weapons, a 4 or
more scores damage on fighter/missile targets.

Enhanced FiCons are marked by an E next to the FiCons that use the enhanced
systems.

SUPERIOR FIRE CONTROL-

Superior FiCon is the best in FiCon systems avalable. Consisting of the best
in computers, logic algorithms, and improved aiming mechanisms,
Superior FiCon is formidably dangerous. A Superior FiCon system costs
20 points, or 10 points to upgrade a standard FiCon to Superior. Superior
FiCons have the following advantages:

*Any Threshold roll that hits a Superior FiCon causes the Superior FiCon to
become a Standard FiCon. A second hit destroys the Superior FiCon.
*All Batteries gain 50% range, and +1 to all dice rolls. AA Batteries
can modify a "one" dice roll at a rate of one Superior FiCon per "one" dice.
*Needle Beams have a range of 12" and disable targets on a 6. At 9",
the Needle Beams can disable a target on a 5-6.
*Pulse Torpedoes gain a +1 on to-hit rolls and +1 to damage rolls.
*All C Batteries used in a Anti-Missile/Anti-Fighter role scores damage
without a dice role.
*All PDAF/ADAF can make TWO rolls against missiles/fighters, and the
owning player can choose the best roll.

Superior FiCons are marked with an S next to the FiCons that use Superior
technology.
