P.S. Has anyone noticed how neat a 25mm Dropship the new GW Tau Devilfish
would be with a minimum of conversion? You might even fit light vehicles in
the bay.

Someone did mention the APC and tank, which are the same animal, save for the
latter's BFG(tm).
Were these at GenCon? I don't recall seeing them. Wish I had a look at the
ass-end, re: transport of vehicles.
I was torn between dropship and close air support, and finally decided
small tramp freighter, aka, rogue trader. ;->= The dingus just SCREAMS
Chris Foss to me.
However, it IS most kewl, even if you hate both Tau(tm) and Kroot(tm) and
their unholy creators(tm), and will be a long d**n time before being seen on
discount. Now, I wonder if they'll do an Epic40K(tm) version...
For some good shots of the shp[ in question go to

It's one of the first new Evilempire products to show up that I actually want
to buy. Depending on how big they are I'll probably buy a bunch for 25mm SG
skirmish (whenever that might be. I'm a sucker for anime looking models.
Hey Jon if you're listening, we've got a group of 4 here willing to play
2+ games of the beta rules a week if you need testers. :)

Glenn's comment concerning CAS in DSII reminded me of something I noticed
shortly after the previous comments about the Devilfish/Hammerhead.
Before we get TOO salivating, take a look at what seems to me to have been an
obvious influence, Star Wars Episode I's Trade Fed Tank... *heh heh*
Not that that can't be fielded as an interesting item itself.
In regards to:

I really don't see it except maybe only slightly with the version with the
turret. The Devilfish is much more streamlined. It's looks to me more like an
air vehicle than a ground vehicle.
What I see for it is some putty on the engines so they don't look so exposed.
A bit of cutting down on the anime bits (antenae, big eyes etc.) removing the
top hatch and shifting everything forward
concept-wise to make the front driver's slits the cocpit windows.
Should make for a cool transport. Now to get the pennies together to get one.
