G'Day
As promised, Eli's pictures of his retro power armour are now posted on our
site (Beth and I), you can find them here;
Nice pics and nice figures.
I really like the "retro" look of this power armor. But, I am concerned
about how they would look next to (or across from) my GW 28mm figures.
Can sombody tell me how big/tall these guys are?
Thanks, Scott Clinton The Grumbling Grognard

dammit!!!!!!)
and are about 31 to 32 mm from the top of the base to the top of the 'head'.
Compared to the current crop of GW 28mm they're still a bit 'fine boned'.
Eli's pictures have encouraged me to shunt my handful of these miniatures up
to the head of the 'painting queue', I bought them a while ago to playtest
FMAS (he he he). I always liked the plastics kits.
Eli has also suggested that they compliment the OU PA well, he may have a
point there:)
Thanks,
That is as I feared. And for my proposes 31-32mm tall for a guy in PA
may be just a wee bit small when standing next to figures that are that height
without PA (i.e. GW Orks). I don't know, I will have to get the ruler out when
I get home.
Now, this is just me talkin' here...
But there are a lot of folks that would love an alternative to GW's
figures/prices BUT, they (we) already have a lot of time and money
invested in 28mm figures and true 25mm figures just look to small when fielded
next to these larger figures.
I tried to mix the scales with the "Star Wars" boxed sets for stormtroopsers
that came out a few years ago. I figured the white would help them look
bigger but while it can work for aliens and such, human's in power armor
just end up looking too small.
Another Club 100 figure I was wondering about was the "Space Dwarf" GZG is
doing for the Club 100. I have quite a few old GW "squats" that I use and GW
no longer produces "Squat" figures. Currently only three other companies
produce a grand total of 18 "space dwarf" figures (that I know of). And
IMHO only about a half dozen are worth getting.
IMHO GZG could sell a decent number of "space dwarves" IF they were in the
28mm scale and GZG produced a complete line of figures (i.e. more than just a
handful of poses). But, nobody wants a "space dwarf" that only comes up to an
ork's knees so they would have to be in the 28mm scale to be viable
(IMHO).
Thanks for the info,

I'm sorry, was the One True Scale 25, 28, or 32? Seems like it keeps getting
bigger. And did I mention that I painted my 6mm NSL PA platoon last night? It
may have taken almost an hour for the platoon...including
Yea. But doing the sholder patches had to be a pain.

I think them's fighting words.:) Personally I use 15mm for SGII. Looks and
feels more in tune with the scale of the game.

Just relax, Mr.Fulton and your shot will start to make you feel better
shortly. <grin>
Now about height, ground scale and... cost... <LOL>
25mm for skirmish and 6mm for 'real' battles - 15mm for whatever is in
between?
Gracias,

No, no, no. 6mm for real battles. 6mm for skirmish (1mu = 3 meters in scale,
1cm on table). 6mm for everything in between. See how much simpler that makes
things? One scale for all figs, one scale of all terrain, one scale to rule
them all...ahem.
You *can* use 15mm for skirmish (1mu=3m=1") if you have plenty of room and
don't have 6mm figs for some reason. And don't mind artificially compressing
weapon ranges. And have plenty of time to paint. And lots of money (this
doesn't really apply, though, because you'll spend the same amount of money.
The 6mm gamer will just get 3 different platoons for the money a 15mm
antiquarian will use for a single platoon).
Book, chapter, and verse! Well done, Sir!
Now we just need to convert these "...poor benighted 25mm Heathens..." and
these "...diluted true faith 15mm souls..." and we will all be happy 6mm ware
game players!
LOL!

I know GW says their scale is 28mm, but I always refer to them as 30mm since
that is what they really are.... Eric

So I'm finally not a nobody!!;)
OK I may be fond on dwarves, but...I just figured they're dwarves so they're
gonna be short. So knees, thighs, stomach... what's a bit of flesh between
friends?;)
<Now if that doesn't start Laserlight off, I'm sorely off my game;P>
