I'm planning on doing a Hammer's Slammers Battalion for DSII, I've got a bunch
of GEV vehicles that I've got to put to good use. What I'm looking for is a
painting suggestion. Particularly, one of the early printings of a Slammers
novel (can't remember which) had on the cover three infantry with guns a
blazing, in a sort of silly Charlie's Angels pose. Anyone have a copy of that
paper back laying around, or willing to discuss their painting references for

There was a lovely Slammers Article for Salute 99

The usual Slammer's uniform was supposed to be khaki (sp?) - but I'd
imagine that the infantry field uniforms would be appropriate camo; as well as
the light GEV jeeps the Slammer's use.

Which minis are you using for the various Slammer's vehicles? Especially
the combat cars & the gun-jeeps? (GZG has several tanks that'd do as the
Slammer's panzer)

Thanks for jarring my memory, as I recall all of your discriptions are correct
for the various color schemes. Scrotica (sp?) makes a nice open topped grav
vehicle which I'll use as the combat cars. Don't know about the gun jeeps
though. I'm using gzg stuff for the panzars, howitizers, and infantry.

As I recall, the slammers didn't change their colors appreciably in the field,
and the tanks were always just shiny (or not) metal.

I think the company is Scotia and their stuff is distributed in the US by
Simtac, in CT. I don't have a web address, but their phone # is (860)
739-3609 and their address is 15G Colton Rd. East Lyme, CT 06333

The one you're looking at (I think) is SF3-Air Cushion Scout Vehicle.
There is also a "Sm Grav jeep type vehicle", model number SF8, that might
stand in
for the gun-jeeps

Don't know about that particular one, but The Sharp End has a tank +
troops standing around in the desert, as does The Tank Lords. The tanks there
would appear to be painted in camo, although the Tank Lords looks more like
it's just covered in dust & sand.
