I know these things take up four capacity points, but I can't find where it
say this. I thought it would be on Page 16, with all the other capacity costs,
but I can't find it there or in the Aerospace section. What am I overlooking?

doesn't it say something like "treated exactly like a load of artillery ammo"
somewhere? it could be another one of jon those rules which were left out by
mistake, but nobody noticed because it was just obvious
because gzg games are so amazingly internally consistent - damn i love
this company!

Bingo! Thanks.

This is a bit of an annoyance. Why? 'Coz do you have any idea what
size category that makes, for instance, an A-6? Or an A-10 loaded with
bombs vice Mavericks? Wow.

Problem I have is that for the same capacity as a rotary launcher with a
dozen GMS/Hs (what I assume is simulated by a GMS/H on an aircraft,
since it's got enough ammo to last the game), you get...One Bomb. Or maybe a
pair of bombs. Awful big bomb? No, just the same payload as three artillery
rounds (I assume fire mission is a battery three, dunno
why).

In DSII, an artillery fire mission is probably quite a lot of rounds, not just
one per tube. Similarly, a DFO counter on an aircraft is an abstract of "the
ability to drop things on someone", not necessarily just a single
piece of ordnance - could be a pair of very big bombs, or several
clusters of smaller ones, or whatever fits the case in question.

You might want to consider two other DFO pods, such as: 2 capacity points,
draw one chit per target, costs 15 points.
    and
6 capacity points, draw three chits per target, cost 45 points. This would
allow adding little bombs and big bombs to the standard medium sized bombs.
Also, consider allowing aerospace vehicles to carry extra DFO pods equal to
the vehicle size class. So a size 7 aerospace bomber could carry an extra
7 DFO pods on the wings and under the fuselage. The trade-off is a
proportional increase in signature penalty as the DFO penalises performance.
For this example, 7 steps penalty to signature or 7 steps bonus to attackers
fire control.

The problem is, of course, that size class/signature has absolutely no
effect on the DSII battlefield. It's all ECM and pilot quality.

I have been considering porting over the Air Defense Levels from SGII to DSII.
Of course, the lower two levels (d4 & d6) are irrelevant, as they represent
air defense assets which are on the table at the DSII scale.

But I was considering forcing the off-board AD to first acquire, based
on Signature and Pilot quality, and then to hit, based on ECM and Pilot
Quality. Comments? And points costs for this thing?
