Nice posting on the value of a Credit. I didn't realize you could build a PDP-8 in your kitchen. I'd love to see the recipe (100 grams of plastic, a bunch of external interconnect pins, eye of newt, wing of bat....etc). It strikes me that one should consider that electronics might get cheaper, other resources more expensive.... on major colonized worlds. You might even have a system where a frontier world finds electronics (good ones) hard or impossible to produce whereas resources are still plentiful. The reverse is true on the older colonies/Earth. This explains in some measure the "high-tech/fewer is better" schema of the homeworld. And then of course you get into exchange rates. Or does everyone use the some universal credit? Or does each block use its own currency? That seems likely.
