Subject: DS2: Construction System Idea
I've been thinking about the differences between high-tech and low-tech vehicles and finding a way to make it matter "more" in game terms. How about this: allow three versions of each chassis size. Low, Mid and High Tech. A Low Tech Chassis is a little cheaper, but loses two capacity points. A Mid Tech Chassis is just like those listed in the book. A High Tech Chassis is more expensive, but gains two capacity points. The differences reflect the miniaturization that generally takes place as technology develops. There would also be limits on powerplants and drive types for each chassis. I haven't worked out how this system should be costed, it's just in the rough idea stage. Any thoughts?
