Okay I am basing the non-SF (Scotia WW1/WW2/modern at 75 cents a
blister) vehicles i am going to use and have some GHQ and H&R WW2 guys for
infantry but what size bases are most of you using to mount Infantry units?
My 25mm individually mounted stuff goes at 3/4" (circa 20mm) X same (cav
3/4" by 1 1/2") and I don't do 15mm figures (except for Starguard
skirmish games using a smaller then human race...)
Any advice appreciated.

I've got about half my figures mounted on 3/4" square pieces of
Plastruct sidewalk tile --
flocked, so you can't see the tiling -- and the other half mounted on
3/4" washers. I
like the washers somewhat better -- more weight, and they look better.
I managed to get a persective shot with my flatbed scanner -- not easy,
I might add! --
and have it posted at:

..if you want to see what it looks like. Keep in mind that his stand is based
for use with Ogre; I usually put three figures on a stand.

Heavy Power Armor, calvary, and size-1 walkers are mounted
1 per base.

I use 6mm WW2 (and modern) infantry (mostly H&R) for DS2--and mnount
them on
3/4" square stands. Why? 3/4" is the stand size for infantry in Clash
of
Armor rules and easily tracks onto 1 1/4" stands for Spearhead and
Command
Decision. Finally, I thought about mounting them on 1 1/4 stands, but
they just looked way too big (that would put a fireteam on a 125 meter
frontage--a bit much, I think).

I do something similar. Rifle and assault infantry elements get mounted on
1"/25mm washers, usually 4 per, but more or less as the mood suits.
APSW/Anti-Armor/LAD/Engineer Teams get mounted on pennys, usually 2 per.

I base mine on metal 3/4" x 1/2" bases, that way they are compatible
with command decision, I also like using metal for storage in magnetic trays
and for use with different base sizes. hope this helps
Glenn,
as i play Command Decision 3, one stand = 1 platoon with two figures on
a 3/4" x 1" base.
command and patrol stands have one fig on a 3/4" x 3/4" base. gun crews
have a base that
fit the crew and gun, usually 1.5" x 3/4".
Dave
Glenn,
sorry, i forgot to mention that the sizes i gave earlier are for
15mm/20mm. a 6mm army
would use 1/2" x 3/4" for platoons with 2-3 figs/stand [paltoon]
(whatever looks good).
patrol and command use 1/2" x1/2" stands with a single fig.
