The following is one of my incompletely equipped DS2 forces' TO&E - The
Native People's Circle army:

The numbers in brackets are the number of miniatures I actually have 'on
the shelf' or on order currently, as in [ 6 + 2 ] meaning 6 on shelf and
2 ordered.

ALL - Enhanced ECM, Superior GCS, Basic FCS. HMT Tech level.

Basic Line/Militia Platoons are Vehicle based with 4 vehicles per
platoon. A Company has four platoons (usually 3 of th basic kind and a fourth
of a different kind although two and two are not uncommon combinations.) There
is a small Command element for the Company (depending on the basic nature of
the Company) either 2 or 3 or in most cases 4 vehicles. Battalions are Four
Companies (usually at least of two different kinds) with a platoon size HQ
unit and a support platoon of approximately 4 attached Specialist vehicles.

Platoon types would be:

VLATM/Recon: These are light 'eyes' designed to spot and not fight
unless
there is no other choice. A Size 1 FGEV, GMS/H, "free' APSW. Always
F.O. qualified. Usually found in platoon strength attached or organic to a
Company. [0]

Motorized Infantry: APCs basically. Size 2 FGEV, 2 x FT (the 8 FT's
break down as 5 Infantry, 2 APSW, 1 LAD) - GMS/L Frequently used in
fast
response forces or LOC security forces. [4] Brigade SF300-206 with 406b
turret.

Light Mechanized Infantry: APCs - most common "infantry" type units -
Size 3 FGEV, GMS/H, FT x 2, (6 Infantry, 1 APSW, 1 LAD) - PDS/Enh. [12]
Brigade SF300-303c.

Light Battle Tank - usually a platoon in a Motor/Mech Company - Size 3
FGEV, GMS/H x 2, PDS/Sup (an newer "Battle Rider" version being phased
in
has a FT (usually consisting of 3 Infantry and 1 APSW) and a PDS/Enh.)
Usually found in platoon strength in a company. [0]

Light ATM - Size 3 FGEV, GMS/H x 3. An alternative to the LBT above.
[0]

Mechanized Infantry - replacing the Light Mech Infantry over time - Size
4 MICV SGEV, GMS/H x 2, FT x 2 (as Lt. Mech,) PDS/Sup. [6 + 2] Brigade
SF300-201 with 303c turret.

Mechanized Assault Infantry - a specialist formation - Size 4 MICV SGEV,
GMS/H x 2, FT x 1 (4 Assault Infantry,) PDS/Sup, LAD, additional, APSW.
Seldom above Company sized formations. [4] Brigade SF300-301 with 303c
turret.

ATM/MBT - Size 4, SGEV, GMS/H x 3, FT x 1 (1 Infantry, 1 APSW, 2 LAD,)
PDS/Sup. Very common "Fourth platoon" in a Mechanized Company. [4]
Brigade SF300-201 with 301f turret.

HATM/HBT - platoons attached from above Battalion to forces either
involved in set piece assault or defensive screening actions. Size 4
SGEV, GMS/H x 4, FT (2 Infantry, 1 APSW, and 1 LAD.) [12] Brigade
SF300-301f. Shouldn't ever need anymore of this model!

VHATM - Uncommon (and not deeply loved by line units because of
implication "We are going to get hammered") Size 5 FTRK, GMS/H x 5, FT x
1 (2 APSW, 2 LAD) [0]

Arty:

HAR 2 - Size 4, SGEV, HAR and LAD. Frequently used in breakthrough
attacks or as "second support" unit for key positions. [0]

MLRS (Large) - Most Common Arty unit - Size 4 SGEV, MLRS (large) and
LAD.
[0]

MLRS (Small) - More common then HAR but less common then MLRS (Large) -
Size 4 SGEV, MLRS (Small,) PDS/Sup, GMS/L, LAD. [4] Brigade SF300-201
with 303d turret.

HAR1 - Size 5 STRK, HAR, PDS/Enh, and extra cargo space (for
ammunition.) Older Arty unit, rarely found except in attachments from above
Battalion.
[0]

AD:

Size 4 SGEV, ADS/Enh, PDS/Sup, additional APSW. [0]

I have not a lot of AD stuff since I have no Aerospace figures yet. That will
come.

A "typical" Infantry based Battlegroup would be something like -

3-4 platoons of Light Mechanized and/or Mechanized infantry
0-1 platoons of Motorized infantry
(possible sub of Mechanized Assault Infantry for Motorized Infantry)
1-2 platoons of ATM/MBT
0-3 Platoons of HATM/HBT
1 Battery of Arty (usually MLRS)
1 Command Team (1 HQ vehicle, 1 ADS, 2 APC/MICV/ATM.)

An AFV base Battlegroup would be something like -

2-3 platoons of ATM/MBT
0-1 platoon HATM/HBT
0-1 platoon LBT
2-4 platoons of Motorized, Light Mechanized or Mechanized Infantry.
1 Battery of Arty (usually MLRS)
1 Command team (1 HQ, 1 ADS, 2 MBT/HBT)

They usually tangle with the PHR (CFE, HVC/RFAC, Track/HMW) - but then
_everyone_ in this part of space does that - but their deepest emotions
are for the NEA ("Anglo"-European stock using FPG, MDC and GEV tech) who
share a mutual emotion.

In SG 2 terms the NPC is equipped as follows:

In a squad are 8 soldiers (usually over half to all male but mixed gender
units are fairly common and all female units do exist) equipped with

D4 armor (battledress) 5 x LTAR, 2 x LTAR/GL, 1 x SAW. Usually there is
a command element. The FP Dice is D12 (with the third casualty dropping
it to D10 or - worst case - D8) with D8 Impact and the SAW is D8 FP and
D10 Impact

This is one of the larger sized squads in my backwater worlds forces. The PHR
runs 10 man squads *, The NPC, RRR and SAI run 8 man squads, the
LLP, NEA **, and IJK ** run 6 man squads. The forces that _do_ field
PA (PHR, Rarely; SAI, Rarely; NPC, Very Rarely; NEA; IJK) usually go with 6
man Squads, except the NEA PA squad is Four.

6 mm miniatures rule!
