What stand sizes are common and work well for infantry?

I use 1" Zinc anodized washers for line squads and ('merkin) pennies for
specialist teams. They are both common and work well. Of course you might have
a different definition for those terms;)

The rest of my infantry is all Irregular's SF inf, which comes cast into bases, and some of my GMS/L teams are Scotia, likewise ready based. The rest of my specialist teams are on roughly 1/2" x 1/2" bases. All my homemade bases are thin sheet styrene plastic, painted before the figs are glued down and flocked afterward. Hope this helps,

This is EXACTLY what I use as well. For Infantry, I base 3 per penny. For Power Armor, I have 2 sizes of Scocia miniatures. I base 2 figures per penny for the smaller PA, and 1 per penny for the larger. The larger will also work well for size 1 scout mecha. > scipio@interlog.com wrote: > I use pennys with four or two troops on a base, fasa`s davion and

I also use 20mm square bases for a lot of my infantry. No particular reason, possibly because I had based my WWII infantry on that size base and it means I can use them in DSII. Of course the infantry packs from GZG come with bases anyway so its not a relevant question. MIke E. Their platoon sizes are also too small to be of use to those of us who prefer 4-vehicle platoon and/or light infantry. 3)I (and presumably others) just happen to like other company's infantry lines.

If nothing else, the name of the 6mm line - DSM, or DirtSide Miniatures - is a small hint of Jon's intentions with them <g> Since they represent the same forces as the SGII models - same universe, like - they're miniature versions of the 25mm models. The line is expanding rather fast - it's only existed for a year, if that! - and I wouldn't be surprised if GZG turn out 2-man heavy weapon crews someday soon as well; but 'til then I just assume that the GSM/P and /L categories are baked together into one in DSII. BTW, the "long-ranged buzzbombs" and "GSM/P" are likely to be one and the same in a few years time, at least if the British MoD gets what they want in the current LAW "contest" :-/ Regards,

We put 24 figs plus a selection of 2, 3 or 4 man bases into each pack (in the UK - I don't know what numbers KR is packing them in for US sale), to give either 3 x 8-man squads or 4 x 6-man. It is really just a convenient number of figures & bases to fit our standard price code for the packs - in fact we have recently stopped referring to them as "platoon" packs and just started to call them infantry packs to try and avoid confusion. Once you've bought them you can organise them however you want!!

I use Scotia's Rocket Teams. Nice minis sculpted in the prone on bases. > BTW, the "long-ranged buzzbombs" and "GSM/P" are likely to be one and Some people are apparently under impression GMS/P is equivelant to Dragon, with GMS/L equivelant to TOW. God knows what this turns a GMS/H into, but when someone a while back posted about being a TOW platoon leader, someone said "And this is GMS/L!" It's not. GMS/L is Dragon/Javelin size/weight. GMS/P doesn't exist today. It's got the same penetration as an IVAR. So it's really just a buzz-bomb warhead with a sustainment motor and a better guidance system. GMS/L teams are two-man crews of Dragon equivelant, as they have more punch. GMS/P is logical follow-on to LAW, if you wish to have dedicated LAW troopers. Or you can hand IVARs out to all your riflemen as a secondary weapon.
