I'm looking for some figs to represent small dropships used for insertion of
special ops troops - I'm looking for something along the lines of a
space-capable descendant of the V-22. Does anyone know of a good figure
line that might have something like that?

AOG has some new VTOL's(Gropos line) that are V22-ish, except these
have the self-sealing fuel tanks we make here at work ;)
Micro Machine Aliens and Starship Troopers dropships work good too.

So does Reaper, but both are 10mm - may be a little large for my
purposes.

I haven't ever seen the SST line. I'd dearly love to get my hands onm a
flight of the Aliens dropships, I'd also love a couple of T2
Hunter-Killers.
I'd also love to win the lottery.... ;-)

Gladaitor Minature's "Hardkill" range do some real pretty dropships, similar
in design to those from the roughneck chronicles. I have a couple in the
painting yard at the moo. :-D

Also check out the new Heavy Gear APC from DP9 - it's supposed to be
12mm but would make a good 6mm drop ship IMHO. It's on the news page of
TMP at the moment http://www.theminiaturespage.com

Very cool looking indeed, though it's a little TOO distinctively vehicular.
This is the route I went with getting a couple of the CAV 10mm APC's as LCI's,
but I'm looking for something a little more aerodyne for covert ops.
Fortunately, I've found what I wanted.

Sadly, no pics at Gladiator's site, and I've never seen roughnecks.

Whoops, missed the link to the new page. Nice fan lifter, I may get some some
day.
I found a Micromachines Aliens Dropship. I'm going to use it for the
special ops insertion vehicle, I've even come up with a good name/DSII
stats
for it (based on a combo of looks AND mission - can't ignore those
rocket pods):
Cascadian Armed Forces
Boeing D-18 ARCTIC (Advanced Reconnaiscence & Covert operations Tactical
Interface Craft)
Class 4 Fighter Armor (Can't remember the limits and I'm not near my DSII
rules right now) Stealth 3 Superior Firecon & ECM Redundant systems
Configuration A: 2 SLAM 3 2 Infantry elements or 1 PA Element
Configuration B:
2 GMS/H
3 Infantry Elements (House Rules ignore the # items=class rule)
Configuration C: 4 Infantry Elements or 2 PA Elements
2 GMS/L
