G'day guys,

You may be on to something here, I'll have to think about it some more,
thanks.
And while on the topic of bugs...
We played a DS game the other night where the bugs actually hit the board (as
a nusiance factor more than anything) and though it wasn't a good test of them
(they got held up in a swamp) it did bring up a couple of points
- watch out where you put them or they may NEVER get into action ;)
- they should get 'easy' movement in bug tunnels (but these must be laid
out before the game)
Another question I was wondering about (and I know even Jon says this is a
hazy area) is would you reckon these guys would ever have target priority
vs a vehicle seeings as their primarily close-assault threat? Come to
think of it if I were a gunner I guess I'd be a bit torn if I was suddenly
presented with a whopping great tank and a soddingly huge bug!
Cheers
Beth
A couple of idea's:
Unless you intend to do some 'Tunnel Rat Clearing' Instead of laying out
tunnels you could just have concealed, semiconsealed and unconcealed entrances
as most would be linked to a hive. You could note down which ones
are accessable from each, eg A/B/C linked group D/E another linked
group.
An the second point I was reminded of a Robotech sequence where the clone
pilots were being programmed before release into battle and given a certain
Mecha type as their priority target. It maybe an option for you to prioritise
like that.
A swarm without priority my attack, a unit attacking them, then the largest
non Bug eg Tank, followed by the closed other non Bug unit.
A swarm that has been programmed with a target will assault until destruction
(it or them) ignoring all others even if being attacked, then revert to
untargeted mode. It would take some special action to retarget a swarm.
Hope this gives you some idea's.
