This is puzzling me. I recently managed to pick up a whole bunch of
GZG "Synbat" grav tanks--nice models, by the way--, and while I was
painting up my test figure (I always use one tank to test my cammo scheme.
This one seems to be working) I noticed something odd. The fron of the tank is
shaped like this:
It's in the front. As to what it is supposed to be who knows. My vote would be
for an air filter or crew storage container.

Of course, if it is a sensor, you might want to paint it something different,
as most sensor covers I'm familiar with are marker "Do Not Paint". (Actually,
to be _really_ realistic, you could paint "Do Not Paint" underneath it
in little tiny letters...<grin>) There's no reason to assume that this will
hold true for the future, but the people looking at your handiwork aren't from
thefuture.

I have always assumed (can't be certain, as Paul Copeland designed the FW
minis, we only cast 'em!) that the "barrel" is a stowage container of some
sort. Tankies often stow stuff on the front to give themselves that little
bit of extra protection - hey, better the bedrolls buy it than the
crew!!
:)
If you assume a not-too-flammable fuel, it could even be a supplementary
fuel drum, like the Rooskies carry in a very exposed position on the back of
tanks.
So what do I win for the correct guess?!!
