Does anyone remember a line of toys sold by Kenner back in the late '80s

called Mega Force? They were 6-10mm in scale, very nicely made, and
came in
the designs/colors of 2 fictional countries, Triax and Vrocs. I had a
bunch back then, but was not into miniature gaming yet, so eventually got rid
of them. I'm kicking myself hard now. The MBT's, VTOL's, and helos were
especially nice, I had a real fondness for the Triax attack helicopters.

Anyone ever see them around anymore? I looked on E-bay, and they were
pretty pricey for the few that are there.

By the way, I got the Reaper Hedgehog APC's in. Here's my run-down:

One more cautionary tale to ordering from New Wave. I placed the order with
different billing and shipping addresses. After they confirmed my order, I
received an e-mail informing me my order had been filled and would be
shipped, but the address they gave was my BILLING address. I sent a reply
explaining to them I needed it to go to the SHIPPING address, NOT the billing
address (Let's just say this was a "Black Budget" procurement), and got a
response reassuring me they would change it before they shipped. Yesterday, my
new figures arrived AT MY BILLING ADDRESS. Luckily, the wif...er... Cascadian
Congressional Oversight Committee..... didn't get the mail yesterday. Also,
the online ordering site doesn't ention how many come in a package. This
actually turned into a pleasant surprise, since I paid for and ordered 2, only
to find that means 2 packages of 2 each.

As for the figs themselves:

Not bad. A minimum of flash, though the detail is only good quality, not
excellent. The minis are around 50mm in length, Double side doors on each
side. The landing gear/lifting thrusters are combined in 4 verticle
posts
set in a square around the outside of the hull/fuselage. Interestingly
enough, the way the 4 posts set, and the shape of the hull, allows you to
stack the figures right on top of each other, almost like spoons or forks in a
drawer. A little smaller than I expected, they'll still make great infantry
lander.

Hear that sound? It's me kicking myself, too. Years ago, I soundly mocked some
friends of mine for picking up a ton of those packs on sale. "We don't *play*
microarmor! Why waste your money?"

Idiot. I have a handful of the VTOLs, and I love them. I want more, but I'm
resigned to not being able to obtain them. I've got three of the big transport
plane, though. One of these days I might even be able to get one of them into
gamable shape.

John, The only vehicles missing from those guys were some form of APC. I ended
up using Rhinos in the Green Army and still trying to decide what
fig to use for the brown army (something Tuffley-ish no doubt). Any
ideas of what might work in this role?

I couldn't even guess, it's been so long since I've seen the tanks. Actually,
I *could* guess, go out on a limb, and suggest that something from the GZG
"Future Wars" line might suit. It's a good line of minis, after all....

John,
Basically the greens are M-1 like and the browns are like the old
M60 in shape. The missile launchers are 6x6 wheeled for greens and
half-tracked
for brown. The ADA tracks for both look like nothing I've seen, I use them for
tank destroyers. Thinking of a tracked IFV from "Future Wars".
