How about a 'crouching' rule Beth to lower their profile. Going from standing
down then they cant move until they stand up again. This lets then take a hull
down positon like tank do. It makes sense to me.

This is something I did quite a lot in a Battletech campaign I was in. I had
my (fast) mech charge across the battlefield and used my last 2 movement
points to go prone. This tactic worked great as long as I was not in short
range of another Mech.
DS2 should allow the same option for walkers. Use the last 1mp to crouch
(allows to hide behind terrain) or last 2mp to go prone (removes the "one size
larger" penalty).
Or getting head shot by PPCs... ;-)

G'day Buck,

Nice idea thanks - though I'll have to go do some more Dalek research to
see if the "masters of the universe" had thought of that one yet;)
Cheers

'Supreme Beings' dont you mean Beth?
Seriously I dont play with walkers or mechs much but I can see them having
several interesting options. The being able to adjust their height is one.
Mobility over or through certain types of terrain is another. being able to
popup from cover to height for most conventional AFV's is another. But as for
being able to crouch it would be a standard option to save space in
storage, like carrier aircraft, like wise for crew access/egress.
Perhaps the Dalek mentality would make them distain the use of cover this way.
But I think that after a few 'hammerings' they may decide that any combat
advantage is worthwhile. They are obsessed, single minded and fanatical but
also ruthless, intelligent and as the good 'Doctor' has said 'the best
technicials in the galaxy'.Buck
