Okay, their Navy, and Air Force units would be key to their survival plus a
lot of diplomacy. And something to trade... Pineapples? LOL!

Hmm, where is the divide in California?

> 3. Cascadia -- Part of California, All of Oregon,

Okay.

> 4. Northern First People's Federation - Most of

All right.

> 5. Deseret (Mormon theocracy) -- All of Utah, parts of

A natural.

> 6. Central First People's Federation - Most of Idaho,

Could be.

> 7. Southern First People's Federation -- Most of

Maybe.

> 8. Lone Star Republic - All of Texas, parts of

I'll accept that.

> 9. Republic of Upper Canada -- Most of Saskatchewan &

Got me, so okay.

> 10. Quebec

The Albania of North America... even if my wife is a Quebec City girl by
birth.

> 11. United States of America -- Most of Minnesota, all

Okay, this needs some dividing up in my mind. Too diverse and too many
states with large populations/industry IMO.

> 12. Disputed (meaning I'm leary of going the whole

Put Kentucky and Tennessee together with say West Virginia.

Have to give this some more thought...

Good point.

> 13. Atlantic Republic - Florida Panhandle, Puerto

Panhandle thing corrected already. Other wise okay.

> 14. Celtic Confederation North American holdings -

Okay, that was something I had not considered.

Dern good start.

How about Mexico and Central America? They are on the continent (said
the ex-Cartographer...)

Hx, SF, and Fx: 6 mm figures, Starships and 1:6K "Wet Navy" warships are my
main interest.

I'm thinking the "Powerful Landlocked or eastern seaboard former US faction
needs staging bases in the pacific, Hawaii needs protection and jobs."

Mendocino, Glenn, Butte, Plumas, Lassen Counties and all counties north of
them go to Cascadia.

All it would take to be even more plausible is a bit of a population shift....

I'm open to suggestions....

Hadn't planned on having them change much, so didn't include them in the
reforming post, but if you have any ideas...

Split off the rural states (everything West of the Mississipi) from the more
urban / industiralized Eastern states ?

Mainly for political reasons. They might still well trade with each other.

That's still a huge area, the splitting I've already proposed divides it up
even more than that, I think the objection someone made was to my making all
that area, most of which was east of the Mississippi and north of the MDL all
one country still.
