Subject: Dirtside FMA rules?
Greetings, folks! I'm looking at starting up a little Dirtside gaming, after being primarily a Starship Jockey. However, I really dislike chit drawing as a combat resolution mechanism, and I'm also looking for a bit of Ogre crossover that gets more of a feel of the old SJ game, without descending to the base simplicity of the Ogre game's mechanics. I've looked over Brian's Dirtside FMA conversion rules, and really like the core concept (I also play Heavy Gear and a little Stargrunt now & then, so I'm very enthusiastic about Opposed Die Rolling as a combat resolution mechanism). What I would like to know who else has playtested them and what the results of the playtest sessions were. Also, how does the FMA die rolling affect the point cost of the DS VCS? Opinions, please? TIA!
