I have just started reading my DS2 book and i have the following question.
When an armoured vehicle with say 2 weapons MDC 3 and GMSL gets its turn to
fire. Can it fire a) only one weapon, b) both weapons but only at one target
c) each weapon at a different target.
I'm pretty sure its b but i thought i'd check.
Thanks

I haven't my book handy, but IIRC, it's *A*.

If the vehicle had either twin MDC/3 or twin GMS/L (but not both!), it
could fire them at the one target (B).
That's according to the standard rules. You can have a house rule that allows
for case C.

Though as of 10/Nov/2001 11:05 NZDST it doesn't seem to work?
**Oh Lord, not that debate again**! <grin> Depends on how you want DS2 to be
run. a) STRICTLY as written
b) 1) requires enhanced or superior FCS - my personal preference...
2) okay as expressed
c) The way I may run it *next* convention for the *advanced non-Canon*

Nick,
It is A - the example given in the book states that if you have a
twin-mount
e.g. 2 x MDC3 then both can be fired at the same target. If you have MDC4 and
MDC2 then only one can be fired.
Cheers, Iain.

And created a fair amount of discussion and 'house rules' discussions but the
rule as stated below is totally canon. Remember it's your game and
modifications have no penalty as long as *all* agree to them (or you are
running a game have announced the 'rules of the day' in advance of the start.)

As I said, I believe Mr.Martin is correct, UNLESS the vehicle is class 6 or 7
and has an extra firecon system.

the way we solve it is a little different....
1. all weapons may fire on same target with no penalty
2. each weapon may have a different target, but apply a -1 die type to
ALL firing weapons PER DIFFERENT target > 1.
fire 2 weapons at 2 targets: each weapons suffers -1 DT
3 weapons, 2 targets: each suffers -1 DT
3 weapons, 3 targets: each suffers -2 DT
#2 above applies if the weapon loadout are the same or differing systems.
therefore, this promotes the purchase of upgraded sensor/targeting
systems to offset the minuses.
