Subject: Defenses against the indefensible
There's a few things you can't defend against, and a few things your shouldn't. The PSB would be pretty thick, but: Kochte field - This field is specially designed to disrupt containment on pulse torpedoes. All pulse torpedoes fired at this ship get -2 to hit. 3 MASS or 5% of hull, which ever is greater. 4xMASS in points. Teske-Null field - A structural integrity field ala ST. This device costs considerable MASS but can pay off handsomely. It is a screen usable only against reroll damage. 3 MASS or 5% of hull, which ever is greater. 4xMASS in points. Projected/attenuation screens - This screen is of lower tech than the screens used by NAC, ESU, FSE, and may appear on older hulls of those or other powers. It protects against beam fire as a normal screen only if the beam fire comes from outside 6". No protection against fighters, obviously. 3 MASS or 5% of hull, which ever is greater. 2xMASS in points. Mag screen - The ship in question has an incredibly powerful electromagnetic bottle around itself. It can repel most of the damage from heavy area effect attacks like the wave gun or nova cannon. For each die of damage, subtract 2 before applying damage. 5 MASS or 10%of hull, which ever is greater. 1xMASS in points (due to rarity of weapon).
