While I've never listed on Bartertown, I've watched it for years. It's
definitely run as a not-for-profit site that allows others to post
game-related classifieds. Mostly devoted to GW items, it's branched out.
And, I'd love to see some painted Full Thrust ships listed.

To tell the truth, I had more problems with the event notices. HGMS notices
are definitely directed to historical players, which, so far, GZG products
have not been. There's a code for Sci-fi gaming, but I've yet to see a
one of the cons listed with it attached. I'd much rather see a list of cons
that specifically feature FT/SG/DS. I believe some of the cons are
single
game or period oriented, and would be hostile to sci-fi events.

However, and I acknowledge the call is Jon's, neither qualify for banning in
my humble opinion.

Jon, we hope you recognize the 'listfuhrer' is meant lovingly.

Mmmm... do I get to wear a uniform? with medals?:). I guess given the general
feel of the mail (and a few I've had personally sent to me) this was someone
genuinely thinking they were doing a service rather than attempting to
advertise. I think we can let it roll unless anyone really objects.

My eating of crow...

***There's a code for Sci-fi gaming, but I've yet to see a one of the

Last Upcoming events included:

***Oct 31-Nov 98 PNW Breakthrough '98, Best Western Tulalip Inn, 6128
33rd
Ave NE, Marysville, WA 98271 (360) 659-4488. HM, FM, SiFiM. POC: Ed
Teixeira (425) 339-6092

...19-21 Feb 99 DOGCON 1 Ramada Inn at Arlington Expwy. in
Jacksonville, FL.
HM, FM, SiFi, POC: (904)399-1975.***

In my own feeble defense, I'd like to point out that the index of codes had
'SciFi'.

While I'd still rather have GZG notices, I'll be quiet now.

There's usually a FT game or two listed in the PEL. The last Historicon ran a
Friday night Full Thrust game based on the star wars universe. Kurrt and I had
a game going Saturday day and evening, but it wasn't listed in the PEL.

BTW, as a quick plug, our game group: The Connecticut Gamer's Club will be
holding our annual CRUSADESin New Haven, CT on the weekend of Jan
11th. There's usually a few FT/DS games gong on. (as well as Warzone,
generic Legions, Warhammer 40k and Epic 40k) I will post the link to the PEL
once it becomes available. We usually have about 300 patrticipants plus a
number of vendors.

Jon, The HMGS people allow 10 percent of the games at one of thier events to
be 'non-historical'. But then they consider 'anchients' to be
'historical'. Pesoonally I cannot think of the battle where the Chinese fought
the Maya.

Well, memory fades with time.
