Subject: Conversion Updates

Hi All,

I've updated some of the conversions I've been working on lately for my DSII
OGRE forces.

Jon at GZG got me some dozer blades with incredible speed so I've revamped the
M911 ARV. I also updated the M64 Hod Ammunition Carrier, and have added images
of the M6 CBR track, M301 Tomahawk SPA, M40 Bigfoot SPA,
M16-H Hover ADS, and M21 Command GEV.

You can look at 'em if you like at:

Can I make a suggestion? Move the crane to a corner and fold it down for a
stowed position. Add some boxes on the top and add a superstructure for more
crew space inside (there isn't a turret right, so they'll probably be happy
for some more head room).

Note the spare power-pack stored on the rear of the vehicle.

Any box out of your bits box with a bit of paper wrapped over it and painted
OD would work as a stowed power pack. As wide as your unit
is, you might get away with two power-packs.

Chains, spare road-wheels, tool lockers and other stuff enhance the
look of an ARV. Heres a centurion ARV.

A tracked load carrier works better in this capacity as you now have a place
for kit or a work area:

Ryan,

Um... thanks. I think. The reason that I mounted the crane where it is is
because there is a mounting bracket there. If I move the crane and want to add
boxes or whatever, I'll have to do something with the bracket. It's a pain to
cut out because of the way the rest of the unit is laid out. Still, I should
be able to put a hollow box or something on top of it.

As to the bits, like track links, cables, etc., I just don't have them in 6mm.

I do like the suggestions, however, and the links you sent are great. I'll see
what I can do to make it more complex, and more realistic.

:)

Well, no pics yet, but I've at least laid out what I'm doing to do to "update"
the scavengers per Ryan's suggestions.

I'm going to add a box on side, very similar to those on the ammo carrier, but
shorter (not reaching as far to the rear of the vehicle), another
smaller box on the opposite side/rear, a fuel cell (I'm actually using a

belt-pack thingy from the old 40K beaky marines that I was never able to

identify. It's a box with a corner cut off, and has ridges along the angled
edge, and a "panel of buttons" on the face. Laid in sideways in front of the
smaller box, I think it'll pass as a fuel cell), and I'm raising the crane a
bit by mounting it onto a round thing that I think is a shield boss, and am
moving it to the front corner, in front of the fuel cell and smaller box. I'll
likely try to add some detail bits to the boxes for interest, but I was not
able to find anything that looked good for cables or track links. Oh well.

Should have pics later this week.

Based on Ryans suggestions, I've started adding "stuff" to my AEVs. I have to
basic layouts imaged on my Minis page in the workbench. If anyone who wants to
offer suggestions or preferences on which works better, or if they work at
all, I'd appreciate hearing about it.:)
