Bless me father for I have sined....

I tried to stay away from the tempetation....however I was weak.
 It
beckoned me like a temptress. I just had to have it. I tried it once and I
found that the forbidden fruit was very suit. So I did it....

I BOUGHT THE NEW EPIC 40K!!!!

Can anyone of you find it in your hearts to forgive me? Later,

Your last chance: Tell us you bought it for the figures.

The new Land Raiders seem better than the old ones in the pictures I've
seen...

<g> I'll become a sinner too, when Epic 40K comes to Sweden next week. And it
won't be for the models (...well, except for the ruins...); it actually seems
that GW has produced a decent, playable game again (last time I know of was
Man of War...). Unfortunately the rulebooks and
countersheets, bought separately, are £15 EACH while the entire game -
with models - costs £50. Guess I'll buy the game and sell the models

Sure, I'll probably be doing the same thing sometime soon. And all of my major
armies changed beyond recognition. (I play Squats, Knights & a Titan Legion.
Whee....)

> Your last chance: Tell us you bought it for the figures.

Bleah. I much prefer the old ones... especially the old lead ones. ^_^

But the ruined buildings *are* rather nice; I was quite surprised.

Incidentally, people might take a look at the new Eldar Waveserpent as a
potential ship type... I need to look at the thing more closely, but it
looked vaguely bio-like/chitinous in appearance to me. (OK, it was in
front of me all of 10 seconds or so, but... I'm going to look again.)

I haven't seen any notices about army lists for the Squats, though:(

Well, the Land Raiders were always a bit strange... The new Eldar
tanks...
well, I prefer the old ones as tanks. For starships, though:) But the variety
they've worked into the IG tank range is wonderful! That range hasn't changed
much in general appearance, but each type of tank now has

3-4 different hulls, tracks, turrets, and various lesser details which
you can match together any way you like. Much like GZG's planned detailing
packs (or whatever they'll be called), only more expensive;)

> Incidentally, people might take a look at the new Eldar Waveserpent as

If you play Silent Death, look at the new Eldar Falcon. It is suspiciously
similar to a Talon (...and I've converted my Talons to Eldar starships, what a
nice coincidence...)

I'm afraid you'll have to do pennance. You will have to give up all of your
monetary posessions... oh, you bought GW; you've already done that. Hmm.

Okay, you will have to spend the next few years consorting with heathens...
you bought GW; you've already done that too.

In honesty, I don't think we can punish you any worse than you've punished
yourself.

So, is the game REALLY that good? I mean, if I want to play a 6mm game with
great game mechanics, I'll play Dirtside 2. If I want to play a faster paced,
fun game with simpler mechanics, I'll use the Ogre rules. It would have to be
one HELL of a game before I'd ever buy GW again.

Tell me, do they REALLY make good use of the infantry in a strip versus a
square, or was that just to make everyone's infantry miniatures obsolete?

The gun detail is much better and the lower tracks make them easier to
convert. I have a ton of the old ones and the tracks make it really hard

to put a turret on 'em. The Rhinos, OTOH, just beg to be converted...

I hope this is not turning into "how much old GW stuff I have"...

Well, since you mentioned it....NONE! ;-) (yet; my brother who
dabbles heavily in GW is putting together a 'care package' for me which is to
include a batch of 'old' EPIC marine infantry for my DS2 stuff)

Better yet: give away to every member of this list one item from the game.

I'll take a ruined building, thanks (that others have recently raved about)

NO! DIE!! HERITC!! DIE!! (oh, that's what you say during the game:)

I've seen it, looks like they repackaged and upped the price. I noticed there
is no option to by the rules alone...

REPENT!!

You will be able to (in a month or so). Trouble is, you'll pay more for the
rule books (and counters) alone (£60) than for the entire game:(

Well, no, actually. You don't need the book on painting, terrain and
scenarios, so you can get the rules, counters and army lists for £45.

Still, you're basically right!

I think I'm going to get some absolution. I going to be an Imperial player and
I'm selling all of the Orc minis from the set to a former Squat Player (who's
very dissapointed with the change) for about 35 bucks. How's that sound?
