A week from right now I should be rolling into Lancaster for the GZG East
Coast Convention. I'm primed and looking foreword to seeing lots of people and
playing some games.
Since Mike Miserendino and I should make it to Lancaster early Thursday
evening, who else will be around? Anything informally planned for Thursday
night?
How about Friday afternoon, anything going on then? A quick trip to
Gettysburg?
I know we could find something to do, but I'm having too much fun planning out
this 'vacation', even though I will probably be driving about 22 hours over 2
days to get there.
Also it is nice to hear the DLD Productions will be in attendance at the ECC
(news item from The Miniatures Page =

Later,
My problem is that I'll be there for Cold Wars (11-14 March). Anyone
else in the neighborhood then?

Yes I'll be at Cold Wars 11-14 March also. Main reason I never go to
GZG-ECC
is that it's too darn close to Cold Wars.

How far away timewise does ECC have to be from Cold Wars? We've tried to stay
at least two weeks away. Cold Wars 2005 will be held on April
8-10
and ECC VIII will be held at the end of February.
I will also be arriving Thursday evening. Not sure about the exact time,
depends on when I get my act together Thursday morning. I'd be up for an
informal game. How about "Kill Dr.Lucky"?
Sheesh! A 22 hour drive! I thought 7-8 would be rough. Man, you are
hardcore.

Or even, God forbid, a full-scale scenario...

You know, it wouldn't be _that_ hard to create a "Kill Dr. Lucky" board
based on an FT ship, though it's more appropriate to create a "Save Dr.Lucky"
board based on an FT ship!
For those that don't know, "Kill Dr.Lucky" is a fiendishly wonderful game by
Cheapass Games. You maneuver around a mansion trying to be the only person
alone with this old guy, Dr.Lucky, so that you can try to
off him. Think of it as the action that happens _before_ a game of Clue.
The other players try to move themselves and Dr.Lucky out of your way, and
they play cards to thwart your murder attempt. Eventually someone kills Dr.
Lucky, and wins the game.
"Save Dr.Lucky" is the exact opposite game. You are on the Titanic with Dr.
Lucky. He's wandering around the ship. You have to get into a position where
other people can see you with Dr.Lucky and you have to save him! It's the same
basic mechanics, but now you have to get people to see you saving him (they
can play cards to thwart your save attempt).

Hmmm... this does have possibilities!

Wouldn't GZG's mad scientist figure fit the role of Dr.Lucky?

Could do, though I use a figure out of the RAFM Call of Cthulhu range. What
you really want is an old guy with a cane, toddling along oblivious to the
danger.

A 25mm Mr Magoo, perhaps?:)

My wife is currently painting a set of figures for the game. We found some
nice 1930's style figures from a gangster series called "Prohibition Wars".

Our Dr.Lucky is PW14 on a double height base.
She's compensated for the lack of female characters with some Victorian
missionary figures from "Darkest Africa"
