Did you see the writeup of my Carnage Con Queso game at ECC this coming
February. It's a Hudak Special...
;)

Saw that last night when getting ready for registration........
Grrrr.......
:-)
Definitely won't be a side order this convention. Going to be the main meal. I
may have some surprises of my own for them......
Didn't see the squad building rules on stargrunt.ca yet. So I'll just wing it.
So, I just need to get painting..... and basing the pirate ships....... and
preparing for a duel.......
I guess I'm just lucky (?) that Full Sail is running next to Stewart's
game. Won't have to worry about media there. :-)
That beats running oldsmobiles at each other. :-)

The IAVR which first earned Mike his fame...make that "notoriety"...was fired
from indoors.
You know, I thought it was 40 megawatts, too. But it's not. Here's the clip
from the movie:
http://datacore.sciflicks.com/the_terminator/sounds/the_terminator_40_wa
tt.wav
My guess is that all us geeks heard "watts" and thought -- "That's
stupid, 40 watts is nothin'. He must have said megawatts and I heard it
wrong." So we all edited it in our heads and have been quoting the movie
incorrectly all these years.
OB-FullThrust: However, the Space 1889 ships I am using for my game
will have 40 watt phased plama beams -- 40 watts was all they could get
out of the steam engines!

Oh, man, I hope I don't have to marry anyone at this convention --
again!

PS -- Indy, has the quote board for the con been set up? This may be
the first time we have pre-con quotes that need to be pre-populated on
the board. :-)

Sorry about that Mike.
I'll get the details up at stargrunt.ca as soon as I can. I've been awfully
behind on a lot of stuff over the past couple of weeks 'cause of an accident I
had.
The details of the squad construction system have been worked out - I
just haven't had a chance to webify them yet. If you want, I could send them
along via email (offlist). Let me know...
> Sorry about that Mike.
Hey, no sweat. Take care of yourself, and hope everything works out for ya. Do
you need anything?
> The details of the squad construction system have been worked
Whenever you get time is fine with me. You've got all of those holiday things
to worry about too. Take it easy, enjoy the season, and just give me a clean
shot at the media.......
> Hey, no sweat. Take care of yourself, and hope everything works out
<grin> He needs for me to stop telling him about the squad I'm designing, so
he doesn't have too many nightmares.

Hmmm.... may have to rethink my vendetta against the media and switch
targets. You got off easy last year........ :-)
The Hudak said:
> Hmmm.... may have to rethink my vendetta against the media and switch
Last year, I got off easy because I made deals and stuck to them, and didn't
shoot at anyone who didn't deserve being shot (Lorenzo because he came in my
direction after I warned him not to; the squad with the lawyer and sniperbot,
which needs no further justification; and Adrian, because anyone who is
standing on or next to a 50,000 gallon tank of molten cheese clearly wants to
receive an IAVR shot, and besides, Tom kept asking us to shoot Adrian).
This year...well...you really won't want to shoot me this year either.
> and Adrian, because anyone who is standing on or next to a 50,000
Man, who knew that was a bad place to deploy!

Much thanks for the kind offer, but no, I'm good.
I went headfirst down some stairs coming out of a restaurant and did a number
on my ankle (as well as bruising my shoulder, etc). Given that I have one good
ankle to begin with, it kinda left me... sitting. I'm now up and about with a
removable plastic walking cast (brand name "Aircast", and I'll highly
recommend for anyone in similar circumstances). So other than grouching
through a couple of weeks of extreme frustration (and a
saintly-patient girlfriend...) I'm on the mend just fine.
It did mean that I couldn't sit at my computer much, though. Seems odd
-
busted ankle = can't use computer - but I couldn't sit for more than 1/2
hour at the darned thing before it ached too much to concentrate.
Anyway, thanks for the thought!
> Take it easy, enjoy the season, and just give me a clean shot at the
Heh. You'll get it, though I'm thinking up evil ways of giving them the
opportunity to respond rather than just running about complaining...

> Hmmm.... may have to rethink my vendetta against the media and switch
Yes he did. You go right ahead and blast him. The media won't mind one bit.
Like lambs to the slaughter, and all that.
Smile for the camera:)
