What's the CPV of the following ship:

B-1/6
1 hull 1 FC FTL

To the commander facing an all-beam fleet, not much...

To the crew, knowing they'll be the LAST target, priceless! ;->=

CPV 11

For both ships, but particularly for the latter, the actual combat value

will of course depend rather heavily on whether or not the enemy uses
missiles :-/

What is the CPV of rock, paper, or scissors?

Should you have a single-value CPV when it can, at best, be a guide?

IMHO it's better than not having one. In cases other than the extreme ones it
does a pretty decent job; and although I don't fight
even-point-value battles I still find it useful for evaluating how well
the players did relative to each other.

Both questions semi-rhetorical. ;->=

I certainly agree that a point system, the better the better, and on this all
give a shout out to OO, is not merely 'nice', but vital to some people.
However, you do have to beat some people over the head with 'even the Evil
Empire's system breaks down at certain points' without arcane and arbitrary
rules.

It's almost as if you need a design CPV system *and* a combat effectiveness
value based on current opponent.;)

Clearly we need the FT equivalent of a FIDE rating...
