Oh, god an AAR. Ok, I'll give you the highlights...

BenCon 2005 Full Thrust Event "Tau Draconis Engagement" by Scott Field

Fun overload. What I remember: I didn't get the names of my fellow players
loaded into my memory. Me (dyslexic 1), Dyslexic 2, Color blind man, Wife of
color blind man, Other human player. Three vs two, equal fleet values.

Human side: Wife, Other human player Alien side: Me(Dyslexic 1), Dyslexic 2,
Color blind man

Standard fleet bash. They brought pulse torps, we brought salvo missles.

I nominate Dyslexic 2 for the Missle Command award of the month, maybe even
the year. I've never used salvo missles in a battle before so I went with his
advice about missle placement. "Missle Commander" put 8 of 9 salvos on target.
*Ouch* We were using substandard missles so damage seemed low. Two smaller
human did disappear after a single salvo. *Pop*

The human side also had weapon quality issues. The pulse torps had good
guidance but didn't do much damage. It's hard to get warhead quality control
testers I guess.

Both sides fought well.

Scott deserves acclaim as an excellent host and referee. He offered advice
equally well to both sides and made fair rulings on range and arcs. Very well
done.

But I do have to offer Scott a new nickname:
Scott "Where's my tape measure?" Field ;-)

St.Jon sent prizes. *0oohhhhhh* THANKS!!!!

The most fun I've ever had in an FT game.

Oh, and Hi Benhan!

You get an honorable mention and a thank you.

Thankfully your luck didn't come along for the ride... Umm... I'm going to
take that back. Exactly what problem do you have
with p-torps again?

Oh?

I thought it was more specific than that. Like you always rolled
1's when trying to hit with p-torps or when rolling for damage.

Do BenCon players go to Genghis/Tacti Cons?

Any suggestions for entertaining a game-aversion,
New-York-to-midlands-Lady-transplant in the area, so my SO won't make
our trip in September our last?

Thanks!

I'm suffering from name confusion so: Assuming you mean the other Denver
Cons... maybe.

I don't usually attend because the games I love are not very popular here. Now
that Scott's here and can bring other people to be corrupted^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H
converted to FT I'll show up more.

> Any suggestions for entertaining a game-aversion,

Ummm. It depends on your lady. There's a good amount of stuff to do here in
Denver. The first question is: Is she an indoor or an outdoor kind of person?

This one does. ;-)

I haven't heard back yet on what games I'm running, but I've offered to run
another FT game, among other things.

> Any suggestions for entertaining a game-aversion,

I'm sure we could come up with lots of suggestions, depending on you and your
Lady's interests. Denver ain't NYC, but there's a fair amount to do. Feel free
to email me off list and let me know what you're looking for.

BTW - sorry all for the long mess of pseudo-text at the end of my last
post. Sending email from work sometimes goes wonky.
